Salinity screening technique in Rice - Petri plate method

This video is about a different phenotypic platform for salinity screening in rice. Generally field level screening, pot culture screening, hydroponics and roll towel methods are used for salinity screening. Whereas here the Petri plates have been used to screen different lines for salt tolerance at seedling level stage. Through this method accurate salt concentration can be maintained and salinity stress can be administered right from sowing which is not possible by other screening methods.
