Faith Mclemore Iv been watching GOT since 2012 and I agree that Jon didn’t really do much this episode. He should have died per the rules of the series when the dead rose up around him but they already brought him back from death so he’s just straight up plot armor now. The show is trying to be polished now.

Jon Snow fought against cannibals wildlings, killed a White Walker General, fought against a army of the dead with like 7 to 8 men, was the only one left standing from his army doing Battle of The Bastards. He still stood up facing a charging army to fight 1 vs 1,000. Jon Snow damn sure not a pussy this was the only real episode he didn't do shit.

One thing that I am shocked that Parks didn’t bring up in defense of the Night King is that he killed one of the dragons by throwing a spear at the dragon in mid air lol. If that doesn’t show how strong the Night King is, I don’t know what will. At that point he doesn’t need to have hand on hand combat with a human to prove his strength if he can kill a dragon that way. He is the only person in the whole show who has been able to slay a dragon with their bare hands lol. He doesn’t need to fight a human imo.

I'm mad that Arya Stark got that kill because *she had nothing to with the Night King*. She never knew him until the last Episode. And how She just jumped out of nowhere eventhough Whights and White Walkers were surrounded the whole place.

A Standoff with a Zombie Dragon that reminded me of Jurassic Park.
Arya got already a lot hero moments in her story such a revenging her Family for the red wedding, killing Littlefinger etc.

@@tshimmarie-france5558 Nah it's not even defensible. After an entire show of telling us that the battle for the the throne doesn't matter, it's the battle with the Night King. They effectively say "Nah this guy is trash the real final boss is Circe and the battle for the throne is what matters". Also I truly don't mind Arya dealing the final blow. I could see they were setting that up with her character for a while and I think more people should have seen that coming just from how the show has writers have been pandering to he fan-favorite status. But they wrote themselves into a shit place to make it happen by. Despite what anyone says, the big boss who carries a bad ass sword and can throw javelins that can snipe dragons out of the sky should be able to fight, and we should see a fight from him. Also, in a single episode we see that the undead are so sensitive they can hear blood dripping on a wooden floor with a massacre going on outside, but the whole perimeter of wights + the walkers couldn't perceive Arya until she was 2 inches from the Night King's nuts, screaming as she is in the air for some ungodly reason? This is all shit I would expect to see in a run of the mill, mediocre fantasy show or movie. Not GoT who go it's acclaim for being better than the rest.

I can understand the frustration regarding the battle with the night king, i wanted to see it too. But we never seen him doing ish besides throwin a spears & raising deads.
He is a king afterall so he doesn’t do much like most kings/queens.
I definitely wanted more backstory on the night king because we know nothing about him!

I think they mean because the white Walkers was built so much throughout the show, they had a war and beaten them in one episode. I had similar complaint, I kind of wanted to be stretched out into 2 episodes but they only six episodes to wrap up everything. Something like this needs the regular amount of episodes which is 10

She has been the smartest character in GoT, so you know she got some stuff up her sleeve. Be ready for some crazy stuff next episode. Battle of Winterfell was dope, if y'all want better details and writing, read the books. There is no way you can do all of these characters justice on a TV show. It's just too much.

How your first episode of Game of Thrones going be this? This is literally a culmination of a Storyline that has been setup in Season 1 Episode 1 of the series lmfao. Pretty much most of the major characters of the show were in this battle.
Why does Parks keep pushing this "bad writing" narrative? GoT is one of the best written shows I've seen and it's okay to give credit where it's due. I hate when people give props to something but try to downplay it so they won't seem "too nerdy" to other people.

according to the story the clues were always there and many of them...
-her training with syrio and the faceless men
-her stealthiness, skills and speed..she is the only one who could’ve done it .
- her sparring session with Brieene where Arya switches hands just like she later does with NK
-her sneaking up on Jon at the exact place she kills NK “how did you sneak up on me” Jon said.
- also Beric’ rising from the dead many times in order to fulfil his purpose or being her bericade from the dead so she can reach the NK- just as Melisandre says right before he finally dies
-The hound always being overprotective of her
-the red woman also telling her that they will meet again

You are 100% spot on Joe that it is terrible story writing. They've been hyping up the Night King/White Walkers since the very first Episode of this show and what did they do ?
No real backstory for the Night King, Him and the White Walkers not fighting, The Main Cast getting overwhelmed by the whights and still somehow survive.
Throughout this show they kept telling that the "Game of thrones" is secondary and the Night King is the real threat. And at the very end none of that matters.
The game of thrones is the primary story. It's actually the night king that was secondary. Majority of the show wasn't about him.
The unsullied are the most fearless soldiers of all. They don’t know fear. All questions have been removed since infancy. They stand without fear even when an army approaches.

The Dothraki swords lighting up was a confidence builder and when they went out in a few minutes it was meant to kill the confidence. Have us viewers on edge. Have us scared at what our heroes are up against. It was the perfect way to start off the battle.

I was really disappointed when the night king didn’t fight that much but overall I understood that his main goal was kill Bran. He didn’t care about fighting anyone, whoever tried to stop him he would deal with at that time but fighting Jon or anyone else? Nah, if I achieve this goal then you are all dead anyway. Just like the living’s main goal was to kill the night king. So in a sense it would be more realistic for the night king to either kill anyone who got in his way or raise the dead to deal with that obstacle.

“There always has to be a stark in Winterfell” - this is consistently said throughout the series. I believe it’s for when the long night comes, i.e: winter is coming. I think Bran warged into Viscerion to keep Jon Snow at bay. The dragon could’ve easily killed Jon but instead was just funneling him away from making his way into the weirwood. Since Jon isn’t a true Stark, I believe that’s why Bran had to have Arya be the one to take out the night king. I know Jon is half stark but he is also Targarayan and got burnt early on. That’s my theory on why Arya took the shine.
