This train, I daily commute in.
Cool! How realistic is the TSW version of the route?
@@noyonb1483 It's surprisingly well made.
Actually recognized a lot of the scenery!
That's so cool
@@noyonb1483 Scenerywise, a lot. But the EMU is wrong. BR 422s do run on the Rhein Ruhr S-Bahn, but on other lines. Since 2015-2016, S8 has always run the BR 1440, and it runs to Mönchengladbach in the west, not Magdeburg (which is way far off east from Rhein-Ruhr).
I mean it's a nice representation of these S-Bahn type of trains. But that's what they look like the first day out on the rails. There's not enough graffiti and scratched up windows on it.
„the aim is to learn the track and remove the hud“ ... brain immediately started to imagine a Train Sim / SWTOR cross-over where a hut is sitting on the track and you have to jump of the train and fight the hut before your train crashes into it. :D
6:00 Come to Sweden and I hook you up! :)
Yeeah!! You have a big fan here!
00:46 "We'll put the air condition on"
Germans: Impossible...
Well in case of the DB Class 423 (the 422's predecessor) the cabin ac is used to cool the water cooled traction motors iirc. So it's always on.
I particularly loved the bridge one. It was just really relaxing listening to you talking about British history.
The "journey" you take us on is just amazing. You're a perfect history teacher. Please do more!
I enjoy watching all the German TSW stock
It would be so cool if they would implement the real Train that operates on this route! Because the BR 422 DB isn't driving as S8. I take this route everyday to work, so It was a bit of a disappointment when they released that DLC.
(Also they need to fix the Route Display. It says "S8 Magdeburg", but it should say "S8 Mönchengladbach" instead, because this route is going from HagenHBF to MönchengladbachHBF, which is the first and last station of this route)
With you on that. S8 Magdeburg is the biggest Train Sim gaffe I might've seen.
Any thoughts about the upcoming VRR timetable changes?
I actually live backing on to a diesel train line. Not as close as some of those houses, though, it's probably 100m away, with an embankment in between. You can't hear them too much unless a window is open, but yeah, even at this distance you can feel the vibrations as they roll past, and easily tell whether the train is high-speed, commuter, or freight. You do get used to it, though. The trains roll past a couple of times an hour, and I rarely even notice any more.
Edit: Well, I'd watch TF2 videos, but I'd also watch the SquirrelPlus streams. So either way works here. And you're welcome for still listening. ;)
"You wanna start at 30-40% power and once it picks up speed go to 100%"
Me: *laughs in Japan's trains*
I would definitely like to watch some Transport Fever 2 videos
I would be interested in video's for Transport Fever 2.
At 20:00, those houses look exactly like Train Sim's standard European house assets, so either they remodeled the same ones (which seems unlikely), or there's a way to import pre-existing models and assets.
And at 34:35, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn is supposed to have 2 cars connected by a bendy bit in the middle (in terms of construction similar to the Croydon or Manchester trams), but I'm guessing that Dovetail couldn't be bothered to animate the train going into bends, so they took the easy way.
Even Omsi allows you to drive the Schwebebahn, and this route covers both end points, so having it drivable should've been a feature.
Mike Blatzheim dude, this I dovetail, never buy a game from them. I try to stop, they are a shifty company.
My dream is that someone makes the entire Trans Siberian like this.
Seeing how they make the entire world in great detail in Flight Simulator 2020 one would think it is possible now.
5 days of train driving? seems a little long, how about we start with something a little smaller like the whole east corridor, or a big chunk of the Dutch rail network (sorry biased)
@@MrJimheeren Needn't be 5 CONTINUOUS days.. Could be broken up through like saves(once DTG implements a proper save-load function)
I'd like the Polish rail network
Flight sim map is NOT in "great detail", the maps suck on FS. They used bing maps
Transport Fever 2 looks very promising in terms of wide variety of gameplay
I think a road trip would be amazing especially about old airfields and airports or old railway lines and stations
Great video. I would absolutely love living so close to a busy railroad. Love hearing the horns and feeling the ground shaking.
Ah so I not the only unusual one
I remember the old MS train Simulator - liked the way you had to manage the boiler and fire as well as driving. Graphically it was not great, and had a lot of glitches (coupling breaks due to track errors for example), but there were also some good add-ons.
Nice seeing trains I ride on regularly. One thing these sims sadly don't simulate are the many prominent technical problems some of these "high-capacity trains" have.
Bombardier builds these and they can't even manage to implement proper seats for the driver, climatisation and I kid you not: Not even the passanger doors work reliably. Just this year I was late for work because I could not get off at my stop when riding a Bombardier Talent 2.
Great video though. Keep it coming, Squirrel!
Interesting to hear Paul talking about how routes are modelled, as I watched the SCS stream about Utah yesterday, and a lot of that was about the research that goes into getting the look of each new state.
When my company sent me to Switzerland we stayed in an apartment that was very close to the tracks. The electric trains weren't bad when they went by, you could still feel them though. The diesel's on the other hand.....
I've been living opposite a freight line for my entire life. You end up getting used to the occasional vibrations through the house, it's still the big class 66 locos mind so you do hear them haha
I had lost all hope of seeing a good-looking new train sim until I saw this video. Nice!
If you want to drive a truck there's a few off road options. I would recommend the one down near Honniton. It is the most expensive one but you get to drive for one and a half hours instead of twenty minutes.
Also you need to press the 3 camera, not 2 when using the external camera to avoid it snapping to things.
Squirrel is one of the main reasons why I started to make content, I love seeing his interactions with fans and love how nice his fan base is
I really enjoyed this video especially the explanation of the signalling. Thanks for the information!!
Also if you wanna interview a "train driver" as you put it (engineer) feel free to send me a DM me. I work in the states driving trains in Oregon and Washington.
You are the best gamer of time . I would totally recommend you
If anyone was wondering this was DTGs attempt at an addon to Ruhr which we have already but UE4 coding couldn’t quite manage it so its a seperate DLC
Squirrel: hey guys squirrel here
Subtitles:I go school here 🤣
Would love a Transport fever series. The VR was amazing. I also think more Vlog type videos similar to the bridge would be outstanding.
I would really enjoy the road trip videos with the history of the cities, cultures, and everything like that. I live in the USA and love to travel and learning history.
Crazy how close this Route is to me, literally like 5-10 minutes by Train!
In the UK we drivers need 2 things in order to drive a train, traction knowledge and road knowlede. Not so much gradients, but we do know how to drive a particular train over a route with passenger trains. With freight and locos I believe gradients are more of a thing. I understand that in europe that route knowledge is not such a thing as drivers have an itenery in front of them to show them where stations etc are in terms of milage. As a UK driver I would always refuse to drive if I didnt have the traction or route knowledge as these are mentioned on our liscence and we cant drive unless we have these things or have another driver with us who do have the road knowledge.
Transport Fever 2 would be a great addition to your channel imo. I already play Transport Fever and I watch extensive gameplay on it, and I am thoroughly looking forward to it.
The only complaints i have with the vr 180 videos is that youtube compresses it down too much which with the Vive makes for a grainy kind of video even with the highest resolution set. The other complaint i have which i don´t think is fixable is the fact that you can see when you move that you are at a stationary position which means moving the head slightly whilst anything is happening on screen you get instant motion sickness. Apart from that i think they were absolutely amazing and i loved that you did those things. Definetely do it again with other things.
Unfortunately, I only watched this video today. I live around 400 metres from "Gevelsberg Hbf". :-) I have to say that the scenery is really quite accurate, with the exception that there are way too many trees ... Bur apart from that - very well done!
The London Liverpool Street train to Norwich is the one I take aswell. From Chelmsford to Colchester is the one I take to get to college. I'm getting this game in a couple days and to have that line would be awesome.
The maximum speed limit indication doesn't quite work, the game works with whatever the red notch on the HUD speedometer says, regardless of what you see on the track.
You were talking about November 5.
On November 5 is SEMA 2019
I'd love to see TF2 videos!
The one super iconic thing about Wuppertal and they don't even get the trains of the suspension railway right.
Transport Fever 2: yes please!
I'd love videos on TF2, I really liked the last one but it wasn't as complete as it could have been. I'd REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY love to see videos on it
Simon SNB TF2? Do you realize that this is a simulator channel not a shooter one?
@@bandvitromaniaios1307 Transport Fever 2. You mustn't have got that far in the video yet
Simon SNB hmm? Oh sorry i didn’t know that i thought you where refering to team fortres 2.
North Coast 500 VR180 in the Porsche :D
I'm actually a train driver. Not on this line though but nevertheless i was watching with fear as you passed those points at that speed! In real life if passing points merely 10 kmh more that allowed you can really feel the train jolt to one side
A roadtrip would be awsome. And seeing that you would enjoy Transport fever 2 why not give it a go on youtube and see how it gets on
I really love rain in simulators 😍
Vr180: watching them in 2D; I liked them overall, one drawback is that it doesn't seem 180,° more like 140° and a bit constraint. Train was my favourite one, tractor the least(I guess that was the least appealing in 2D but probably cool in VR) The Bridge one was cool, reminded me of Fred Dibnah (I think he once did an episode on the bridge). Maybe have a chat with Martin Zero (youtube)/ martin_0401 (twitter) about doing industrial stuff.
Trainfever 2: looking forward to it, both on stream and youtube. check out Colonel Failure on youtube on how he did content for Transport fever.
yes, I’d love to see traffic fever vidz here on yt
Around 16:25 you commented about the "meh" looking sky box, some developers use a plugin called TrueSKY to make skies prettier in UE4 based games, but I don't really know if the engine really needs that to achieve such thing, or it's just the developers looking for some way to get pretty skies without increasing system requirement too much.
Either way, I hate it when it's raining heavily in the game world, and you still have bright sunlight casting shadows all over the place as if it's still a sunny day...
a road trip to stonehenge would be good
They should have an autosave feature, like ETS2 and American Truck Sim where your game is saved like every 5 minutes or so and if you make a game over mistake, you go back to the last checkpoint.
Wish it wood rain in Sydney out west. No rain along time. Love all blog.
Transport Fever2! YES!!
12:09 I agree
I was doing a Saturday Special Route And Arrived at Manchester in the Class 101 Ran the stop light at the Middle of the station and failed the whole thing
And It took me an Hour to complete
You mentioned not having a license to drive a truck. They must have truck driving schools in the UK. As a trainee you wouldn't need a license. Maybe you can arrange a day of "training" at one of these schools. Just a thought. :)
There is a “load at last check point” of you either pass a red signal or derail.
Fun journey. Thanks!
I'm thinking to buy this DLC, but is the €30 worth it, or should I wait for a sale on Steam? And can you drive both this train an the double-deckers?
Wuppertal steinbeck in 1 minute from my place! Wow
that's crazy Aziz !! How do you like it? What's the area like? is it safe? what is the cost of living like?
Train videos are maybe your best! Cheers. (2nd only to farming streams!)
Transport Fever 2? Yes please, let's see some vids on it! I really should go back to TF1 sometime....it was fun but frustrating.
you always use the signal on your side of the track.
also, it is completely normal for the deutsche bahn to be late.
Hey Squirrel i like your Videos they are awesome. Your my kind of guy that play TSW1 2020 sometimes i play TSW1 2020 my self
If you decide to make TpF2 videos maybe you could do mod reviews/showcases? Quite a lot of british stuff already out on the workshop for it and hopefully a lot more to come.
Can you turn motion blur on? It looks a lot better with it on imo.
I'm really enjoying this series, Paul. Thanks for doing it.
Those double decker trains are very similar to what we have here in Sydney, Australia.
It serves here as an regional train
My summer car????
In Kenya you can just drive a truck without a license, they'll check if you have a license if you crash...LOL
yes!! thank you so much for telling me it's coming out!! I have 500 hours of Transport Fever and didn't even know it's getting a sequel. so fckn excited
I would like a train game where I can ride as passenger and supports VR, any suggestions?
Love this train!
+1 GA 180 Once the weather picks up
This class train sounds a lot like the underground trains 🚇🥰
Make some transport fever 2 videos. I loved transport fever 1 and (almost) everything about transportfever 2 looks awesome.
Having a class 350 on TSW would be nice
I would definitely like to see Transport Fever 2. Even if its just a review of the game and showing off the new features etc. Also keep up the great work Squirrel!
I'm in a TV series on ITV, I been in a couple of movies too. I am in series 10 of Vera, Not yet broadcasted. But I have uploaded a couple of short vids onto my channel from set.
I liked the bridge one best. Probably because of Doyle. Aka Killmouseky
hi I subscribed two weeks ago!
If you have the TSW 2018 on the rapid transit (Germany) there is a add on the DB BR 182 it is really good 5 stars if you search up DB BR 182 trailer you can look at the trailer.
very good videos I looked at bus/plane/train videos
Hopefully the next My Summer Car video won't be long.
22:45 Probably never, because it's made by Dovetail. And even if they did, expect it to be riddled with bugs like their games 😭
How your game run without any bug..? I have train sim world 2020 there is too much bugs in the game..
Transport Fever 2? Give it a try. It can be attractive, who knows.
BTW very nice video!
Hi mom!
I don’t get much time to watch the streams, so a few videos to give us a feel, and some pointers/tricks/tips would be useful
Squirrel I saw your little thing on vr180. My recommendation is to go out to Heathrow and doing some spotting some British Airways. It would be a stable environment.
i wish theyd make a sydney route, preferably richmond to central i would really enjoy that. plus would like to see the tpf2 vids
We love u
In Wuppertal you have a monorail.
I like transport fever
Definitely do videos for transport fever two as some people don’t get much time to watch streams or just aren’t able to watch it because of different time zone differences so definitely do videos if possible
Loving these Train Sim World videos Squirrel. Are there any lines in Austria? Vienna to Wiener Neustadt or Graz
Hi Paul. The idea of a VR road trip video sounds realy great, as someone below allready said , some old airfields in it would be realy cool. Thank you for all the great videos that You made. I am wathching Your videos for a few years now and they are better and better constanty. You should do the TF2 videos also.
I’d like to see a “first look” or review of tf2 then you could add more if you see we like it.
Hi Squirrel
Have you already tried Zusi 3 on Steam? You might maybe like it. That's a bit the Omsi 2 for train sims: ugly graphics but really realistic :-)
Transport fever 2 ftw
I can possibly help with a coach/bus driving video on our premises. We have a large piece of private land where we test out our vehicles. We also have an 1989 Foden Tractor unit and low loader trailer you are welcome to try. I dont think you can get through all 18 gears on our premises. Our buses/coaches are Neoplan Skyliner, and a Jumboliner not yet running. We have a view Volvo B10s in coach and bus form, B9L in double decker bus. Leyland Olympian double decker and Leyland National MK2. We also have various Transits. But no one is interested in those
thank you awesome vid
