Listen i grew up in the 70s n 80s Liverpool and Stevie is a legend. That bloke was a world class player, I've seen him playing basically as a right winger in game's and his engine in the day's of heavy boot's muddy pitches and less subs he could go and go. Always remember the memories that man gave me. Ynwa Stevie
These guys should analyze older tourneys like euro 84, 88 etc with footage. It would be awesome, great teams/players as well. Milan 88 etc...perfect addition.🎉
Stevie is right about not playing Michael Owen over Torres. I saw Owen play for Liverpool in a Legends match and every time he touched the ball he was booed. Going to Chelsea is one thing (Torres), but going to Utd? Owen knew exactly how well that move would go down with the Anfield faithful
Lautaro Martinez is an elite striker and is having an excellent individual season where he can’t stop scoring goals. He’s the top scorer in Serie A has 26 goals in all competitions and is having the best season of his career. He’s one of those players that seem to crumble in high profile moments when the whole world is watching. His performances at the World Cup where he missed so many chances for the Argentina national team and then later on in the tournament got benched for Julian Alvarez is where people saw him as a big game bottler, calling him “Gonzalo Higuain” 2.0 also him coming up short in the champions league final last season and his penalty miss in the shootout against Atletico Madrid where his team would go on to get eliminated from the competition, despite his form domestically, outside of Serie A due to his ability to crumble in high profile moments, this is where a lot of people push an agenda that Lautaro Martinez isn’t a world class striker. It also doesn’t help him that after he got benched by the national team, Argentina went on to actually win the World Cup. This is a reason why people aren’t going to recognize him as an elite striker due to the fact that some of his “low moments” came in front of an audience where he was being watched by the entire world even though it sucks to see because he’s one of the best strikers in the world, one penalty miss shouldn’t overshadow how good of a season he’s having because as we speak, his goals are leading Inter Milan to a Serie A title but too bad this will be the only thing that people will talk about rather than appreciate his goalscoring prowess.
But he converted the winning penalty against Netherlands when Enzo had missed, his shot against France that Lloris Saved in the final was converted by Messi for the crucial third Argentina goal. Some key moments too, even if he missed some in group stages
In the '83-'84 Euro Cup, Liverpool beat Odense (of Denmark) 6-0 on aggregate, winning 5-0 in the 2nd leg. Liverpool defeated Strømsgodset (of Norway) 11-0 in the first leg of the 1974-1975 European Cup Winners' Cup (now defunct). Stevie Nicol joined Liverpool in 1981. He was 13 years old in 1975, so he certainly wasn't playing for Liverpool when they won 11-0.
@@realreggaelutionrecords Yes, of course. However, the question was whether he played in the match where Liverpool won 11-0. That was in 1975. He wasn't playing.
Yes, but he then confuses the 11-0 game that he probably didn't remember anyway with the first round games . Which he says he didn't play in. Incorrectly. You mention the games, but not that he did play in any of them. So, I was adding to your post and not arguing against it or contesting it, which is why I liked your post . Nobody was questioning you or your post , only proving further information. So I'm not sure why you seem to want to correct me, incorrectly.
Jürgen Klinsmann when he was young was pretty similar to Nunez. The man would score Volleys, bicycle kicks and diving headers but miss easy chances. Saw loads of games of the young Klinsmann in Stuttgart and he was inconsistent at the Start of his tenure there.
Loved this video lol. Couldn't help but laugh along with them. So many wanna get on Nunez for missing easy chances. Ronaldo missed a massive one against Al Ain a few days ago. It happens to the best and the rest of us.
@@BC-mj7gj I didn’t say Owen was better than Torres or Suarez…just pointed out he was the only one who won a ballon d’Or, shows how much that award is flawed

There’s a reason why Darwin Nunez is “chaos”. Despite being a striker, he has some of the worst finishing I’ve ever seen because he is unable to score tap ins and misses some very easy chances, but then all of a sudden he finds a way to score a difficult goal and makes up for his miss with a game winning goal. I don’t know how he does it seriously. History is repeating itself for Darwin Nunez in his 2nd season at Liverpool. Remember his first season at Benfica, he really struggled, but then exploded in his 2nd season there and the same thing is happening to him at Liverpool, decent debut season, on fire the following season and is playing a role in their title challenge and how they’ve been able to compete on all fronts in different competitions as well. It wasn’t an easy debut season for him at Liverpool, due to the fact that the team as a whole was struggling, the transfer fee weighed down on him, as we’ve seen with players, some of them have an adaptation period in the premier league, and he was signed in the same summer as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and those 2 were being compared and it didn’t help that Haaland took the premier league by storm breaking the scoring record in his very first season coming from the Bundesliga and also led them to a treble. Now you’re seeing the best out of Darwin Nunez, he’s scoring more goals and have been pivotal ones for Liverpool and he’s an important player in their team his presence alone makes their attack very good and is a difference maker for the team even when he’s not scoring. We all expected him to come good in his 2nd season at Liverpool due to the fact that in Jurgen Klopp’s system attackers often thrive and he gets the most out of ones who aren’t even prolific. We’ve seen this with Mohamed Salah Sadio Mane Roberto Firmino Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota under him. I feel like players who struggle in their debut season at clubs you can’t judge them too quickly, because a prime example of this is Richarlison he didn’t have a good debut season at Tottenham and now he’s hit double digits in goals in the premier league, remember Rasmus Hojlund went 14 games without a premier league goal for Manchester United before his injury, he scored 7 goals in 6 consecutive premier league games, I don’t think that this applies to that fidget spinner Antony who has 0 goals and 0 assists in the premier league and we’re in March, but Darwin Nunez is balling right now. He’ll be a great striker for sure.
haha.. Stevie Nicol did play in the Anfield game vs Odense , 5-0 to liverpool. Kenny got 2 , Robinson got 2 and there was an own goal.... Stevie .. sort it out man . haha
Stevie had a few seconds in his head where he thought…”I never watch Inter or Argentina, let alone Lautaro Martínez. How do I BS myself out of this question?” It’s clear he’s virtually never seen Lautaro play😂
Now, you may be wondering how you've ended up in this position. The fact is you clicked on the title of this video. You have no one to blame but yourself.

Steve Nicol is also an LFC legend! Great man during my growing up in the mid 70s.👍👏

Stevie will always be a Liverpool legend, but his time on the pitch is long past. ❤
He’s 62 I reckon he could still try. For 10 mins
He could still be a part of a game. He would probably not be seen in defense but.....😂😂😂😂
11 nil against Stromgodset and 10 nil against Dundalk a couple of seasons before. I was at both games.

Well he wasn't fat in the 1980s so that reference clearly doesn't apply.

He couldn’t hit water if he jumped out of a boat

Great point on suarez
Absolutely right, Suarez was always problematic for defenders but the finishing was not great, for a little while I expected Carroll to out score him.

2. Torres
