The construction of the forest road. The length of the forest road is 5.4 km. In this video I am
preparing the road base, before backfilling with sand and gravel. I excavate the peat and fill it
with sand. The deepest peat layer is 1 m.

I need this guy with a machine in my woodland, he's a true pro. Barely passable after all the rain, culverts washed out or blocked, road surfaces washed away. Miserable in there at the moment 😔

since your making the logging road to be more stable for trucks to drive on and we all know you'll make it look good. Will you be cleaning up the ditches on either side of the road as well? Also i don't think i've seen you use a normal bucket as to a grading or that V-ditching bucket you have.

Did they use the 1meter of peat for road bed prior to your guys using this road. And now your beefing up the road pad?

Yes it was the old road.The peat was covered with earth, which had been excavated from the ditches.Previously, large log trucks did not drive there,could ride jeeps there.So you have to dig out all the soft stuff out there,to be able to build a good road for log trucks😉

I assume yes, but it looks so different (like a massive amount of work has happened).

what is difference from peat and top soil?
peat is a peat,but topsoil can be used for finishing ditches😉
Peat is usually dead moss mostly, can be any plants really. It's like building a road on cleaning sponges you can't really put any heavy loads on it.
