Keats-Shelley200: An Immersive Video Tour of the Keats-Shelley House narrated by Bob Geldof

The Keats-Shelley House is a museum dedicated to the second generation English romantic poets who lived in, and were inspired by, Italy, and housed in the final home of John Keats, who died there in 1821.
To mark the bicentenary of Keats’s death in February 2021 we launched a series of digital projects including this immersive video tour narrated by Keats-Shelley200 Ambassador Bob Geldof.
Best enjoyed with a VR headset but also accessible in Ultra HD on a regular screen, the tour takes you through some of the rooms of the Keats-Shelley House and, with a headset, allows you to imagine you're physically in the rooms where Keats spent the final three months of his life. If taking the tour on a regular screen you can watch it as a straight video from start to end, or move around the rooms to explore things that interest you.

This place is truly special - I visited over a decade ago - and was so moved by the experience - feeling the presence of Keats particularly strongly. A magical inexplicably moving experience - I went on to write a poem about it . I eventually got round to making one of my handmade books as a tribute to Keats - it has become a favourite to make.
