I don't think it will last long in London. Since the introduction of Universal Credit due to welfare reforms it will be a shoplifters paradise. Since the welfare reform more stores are finding people are shoplifting to be able to feed themselves and their families because they don't have the money to pay for it. Cashierless stores will have more shoplifters, especially supermarkets. Sure the stores may save money on hiring less people but the losses from theft would be more than it would cost to hire security guards and actual staff on tills.

How does it track your phone to the specific sensor of what you picked up and what you put back? To be honest, it just feels like this is another way of government spying and I hate it lol

Just FYI- it’s $59 to go to both the Space Needle and the Chihuly garden which is next to it. It’s around $35 for just the Space Needle. For tourists the CityPass includes it and is a better value. There are also sometimes Groupon or LivingSocial coupons if u plan ahead.

That side-step thing won't work. However, the walking backward uphill *does* work! It's a LOT easier to _push_ a weight (your body weight) uphill than it is to _pull_ a weight uphill. When you walk backwards uphill your legs and butt are pushing your weight uphill, but when you walk forward your legs and butt are pulling your weight uphill. I figured it out on Alcatraz, believe it or not. It's about a half-mile, all of it up a STEEP hill, from the dock where you disembark to the top of the island where the prison sits. After the first switchback I turned around to see how far my Mom and step-Dad were behind us and realized how much easier it was to go backwards uphill. It was purely an accident, but I walked the rest of the way uphill backwards. The next day I didn't have the ridiculously, _cripplingly_ sore butt and front of my thighs that I had always had before when hiking up steep hills all day.

There's an Amazon Go near my office but I've been too intimidated to go in! Thanks for the sneak peek. I'll give it a go (no pun) soon.

You should check out Volunteer Park and the water tower inside it for a great (free) look out of Seattle. It's also next to the cemetery that has Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves, (also free). If you're over in Bellevue, you should check out the Jimi Hendrix memorial in Renton. Best pub in Seattle hands down for me is McCoy's Firehouse down near the stadiums!

When exactly were you in Seattle because we just had the first sunny day today in about a week! It was so fun to see you at some of our favorite places. We are HUGE fans of Mox's Boarding House (they have the best fried chicken ever!) My twin boys went to the Sphere's with their high school horticulture class and it was very cool!! Wonder what would happen if you uninstalled the Amazon Go app while in the store? If you want to hike, my hometown (North Bend, WA) is the place to go!

@@tahitinova546 True! I think they did. My imagination had blow horns and alarms going off, something dropping down from the ceiling to capture you and grab your wallet. OK, not really, but it is fun to think about.

What I'm wondering is what happens if someone doesn't have any money and they grab a lot of stuff. Since it takes so long to charge you, you'll be pretty far away.
