Tough week for Doughty; literally and figuratively spat on.
😅
When you say ReggiN your gonna get spat on
Lol
@@owendaboss3858 if you honestly think teammates and coaches will just casually carry on while their players use racial slurs on the ice, you’re delusional.
A ref and 3 guys from each team in that pile and you think Doughty said that!
Don’t forget to breathe idiot
Good lol fuck doughty
what a terrible way to pay respect to a Goalie that has been with the franchise for so long and won you two Stanley ups and a number of playoff runs.
Professional sports is a "what have you done for me lately" business.
@RoyalT not just what have you done for me lately.. They stuck with Quick when's he's been straight up bad for 4 out of the last 5 years. Winning a couple of cups almost a decade ago doesn't ensure that you never get traded its kinda ridiculous
They paid him a solid $ to play goalie this season. He was one of the worst goalies this season.
@@KyleMacSkill it’s not the fact he’s being traded it’s the fact that they didn’t warn him or anything they just told him after the trade ended up happening. It’s just disrespectful to a player that’s put so much into the team
@@Etonfax would that make him feel any better being told before the trade ? I highly doubt it. Sure it would be more of a shock.. but if he had any self awareness he should have known he was a weak link on the team
I'm a Sharks fan, and even though I never liked Quick, I respected the hell out of him. He didn't deserve this. Making Kopitar upset is truly illegal and pushes it even further. And now Quick's on VEGAS, and both these guys and my Sharks potentially have to face him on the ice at least one more time this season? Double illegal and disrespectful.
when LA starts losing , manager of LA better wake up
Sharks fan here as well this just aint right. im still mad the sharks did this to Pavs and look at us now, garbage.
I'm a sharks fan and hate quick lol. He would do things in the game I found dishonorable. Holding players in his crease. Diving and then trying to start a fight ..
Dishonorable player who got treated dishonorably in the end.
Are you saying the Kings should be made to eat the roster spot when it was clear they had to move on? Multiple times this season when he had his chance the Kings would go right back to losing. I don't even know if that's his fault but it was clear they were going to be stuck with trying to make a run with Copley.
Are you saying the Kings should ignore all of that and keep him, hoping he retires and they can have the banner ceremony? Or do they just watch him try to have a Fleury-like rebirth somewhere else as a UFA, in which case we're in the same spot.
I'm actually not disagreeing with what you said about respecting him or not wanting to see him if he gets hot in the playoffs. I'm just wondering if the Kings should have said, "no we shouldn't take a miracle opportunity to improve here because it's Quick. He's earned his spot on the bench for the playoffs."
As a fellow Sharks fan I totally agree.
Your editing is ALWAYS. ON. POINT. It hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Agree, I was going to say it, but a better team beat me to the end of the clock..

Growing up as a kid from a small town always playing hockey and being the underdogs watching the kings win the cup as an 8 seed is one of the greatest accomplishments in sports absolute shame how they did quick but everyone who knows what happened will know quick gave the kings his all every year
Moma2 enjoyed helping the Kings become relevant back then.
As a hawks fan I was rooting for LA to win that year. Being the 8 seed and winning the cup was the craziest thing. They didn’t just win either they completely dominated. Was an amazing team and year
@@Childofbhaal The Kings and Hawks were 2 Teams Moma2 the creator of the NewAge Hockey System unofficially connected with online and a lot of STILL cutting edge data was gifted to both those 2 Teams...there was a good reason neither the Kings nor Hawks could put together a Dynasty run...but kept alternating Cup wins ....they were not allowed to repeat for specific reasons. Glad you enjoyed those Cup runs they were the beginning of a under the surface NewAge Hockey System era in the NHL which is now producing the most exciting offense we have seen since the 80s without a doubt. The Kings should know Moma2 is retired however for a chance to bury the Oilers that could change.
that first cup in 2012 was astonishing man. I remember 2012 very fondly. I personally was rooting for the devils but at the same time I can't help but give the benefit of the doubt to LA because of their resilience and because it was the first one. Plus, the 3 month delay due to the lockout was probably a blessing for them because it meant longer off season with the cup and all.

Now he's back in the division with Vegas, he would go absolutely mental against the Kings as an act of revenge if they met in the playoffs
Nah. He’s incapable of decent goal tending anymore unfortunately. His glass groin never recovered

Could happen.
It won’t be about revenge, it should be helping his new team win the Cup
I remember when Gretzky was traded all of Canada pretty much felt the biggest punch of all!

@@tchef2525 That's BS. Peter Pocklington, previous owner of the Oilers sold him for $10 million to LA, along with a few other players. Gretzky wanted to stay with the Oilers and had a contract in place to make him stay in Edmonton till 1999. It was Pocklington's greed that made this trade.

As sad as this is for their careers, it sounds like the friendship will continue forever.
As a Hawks fan, when the actual Stanley Cup was whoever won the Kings/Hawks series, this hits hard
End of an era on multiple fronts
Man I never thought I'd be cheering for the VGK's. Buying a damn quick jersey. The king of KINGS players in my book
As a ducks fan i loved this trio of players. Sucks to see a franchise player get treated the way he did.
That song at the end had me rolling 😂😂
Doughty so broken he know how many times quicks saved his ass 😂😂
I’m not an LA fan but that sucks big time. But Hope quicky comes backs and ownership has a change of heart.
This is not a kindergarden league. This is NHL where what you have done in the past will get you only that far. NHL is business first, just like any other businesses. JQ had a weaker season, his performance was not where it should be, plus other factors went into play as well. You have to realize these players are getting paid huge money, and for that kind of money they're expected to perform. Quicks style and age caught up with him, and I actually wasn't surprised with the trade at all. I thought that if GM pulls the trigger, it won't be the new kids but the weakest link in present system which, unfortunate as it is, was Quick, and it was for extended time period.
JQ is a living hockey legend but he was not protected from trade in his contract, and being emotionally attached to players didn't work well for Blake and Kings in the past. Blake did what he had to do for the team. I have no doubt that if either Kopi or DD started to be on noticeable decline and had no no-trade clause in their contracts, they would find themselves on trading block.
Being emotional is good, but business decision always has to come before the emotions. Emotions will subside rather quickly but bad business decisions will impact business for long time.
Yes, I feel for all three players, their pain and frustration, but they're pros and they'll get through it.
And Quick will have still a shot at the Cup, only with a different team.
Did anyone cry for Marty who scored both game 7 winning goals in 2014?
No.
Life's not fair. Deal with it.
It’s not that they traded him, I actually believed it would’ve happened sooner or later. It’s how they went about it. Blake just said “ he doesn’t want to disrupt the team chemistry right now and they won’t be trading “ and what’s he do, he does just that. He should have never said anything like that to begin with.
Who asked what team you cheer for lmao? You don’t have to state that you’re not an LA fan
@@poppfish790 He’s saying he has no skin in it by stating he’s not an LA fan, it’s to put things into perspective. Fuckin simpleton

When that music started playing. I had visions of Nashers Be A Pro series and all the trips to the Art Museum Doughty would impose on Rusty.
When an organization is parting ways with one of its former key players, it's always best to remove the bandage quickly and snappy. Glad to hear both Kopitar & Doughty being honest about their feelings and that their friendship continues no matter where the three end their careers. As a DRW fan, I look forward to the playoffs because there will be many opportunities to see great hockey and meaningful games with some twist in it, maybe karma is a bitch after all here...

I thought this video was breaking into the song “Sound of Silence.” (Zooming in on Drew’s face) 😂
I feel for these guy's but it's all business and they know it's not the end for the friendship 💯
Kopitar looks devastated my goodness
I would of been cool if they got to finish their careers together. On the bright side at least they are all still multi millionaires that can afford to visit each other whenever they aren't working. It would be pretty cool to meet up with your friends you haven't seen in a while and say shit like "hey remember that one time we won the Stanley Cup in Los Angeles for the first time ever?" Or "how have you been? Still rich? Oh that's cool, me too!" It still sucks to see him go but at least they have the memories.
I guess these two are the only ones left from the cup days.
That background music😁
As a Rangers fan and how heartbroken it still was to lose to you in 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, I always enjoyed watching Jonathan Quick play! He's been a fun player to have in our Organization and has been a backup and teammate! Even Igor Shesterkin likes him too! I hope he can win his 400th Game wirh us next year!
he didn’t die, he was traded.
Vegas vs LA in playoffs. Yeah, baby, Quickie stick it to 'em.
There is no best way to trade a player that contributed as much as Quick did.
Maybe not but sending him to the last place team in the league in his twilight is probably the worst.
@@MrWookie1981 He went to Vegas.
@@GreenSteedaGT Luckily CBJ traded him there. The Kings sent him to CBJ. The team he spent his whole career with and had cups with sent him to the worst team in the league. Does not get worse than that.
I’m not even a kings fan, but I have a huge amount of respect for quickie, they did him dirty.
Classless move by the Kings. Having said that, these guys are millionaires. They’ll see their buddy again at one of their mansions in LA. They’ll get over it.
Of course. The question is whether or not it will backfire, as there are a number of ways it could.
It isn't classless. Quicks been dogshit for like 5 years

I wonder what doughty thinks of him now as a ranger he was on fire on sunday
Fact: Quickie not only a 2x SC Stanley Cup Champ but also maybe one of the few who were traded twice in less 72 hours.
Columbus told him right away they were gonna trade him to a playoff team.
Why would you needlessly rock the team chemistry like this?
Isn’t it Bergevin the senior advisor to the GM. It may have nothing to do with but Bergevin was known to make cut throat trades like that back in MTL. Regardless of how much a player mean to a franchise, he only sees the benefit and assets he gets in return. I can see Bergevin behind that trade 🤔
I'm not a King's fan but this is so sad. When the music kicked in at the end I felt like crying. 😭
i laughed when the music kicked in, thought it was funny. these are grown men playing a sport for money. and they can still be friends with each other. i don't get the over-dramatic sentiments regarding this.
All good things must come to an end.
And to think you may see him in the playoffs.. wild
You'll be seeing him alot sooner than expected now
Woah was not expecting kopitar to speak with no accent

That’s a great answer from Doughty, as a Flames fan I could never imagine what it would’ve been like if they sent Kiprusoff away years ago
Kopi was so sad
NHL is hockey, but business as well, people are people, I respect the guys showing they are people, nice emotions
I lost it when the music started.
A series win in the first round will heal all problems. An early exit get the popcorn!
LA management saw Miller spitting on their player and thought I wanna do it too
good unit of work GLOVEY. SUBBED
Something had to go there - the kings have basically been the same team for 10 years now !
To be honest, the Kings ripped the band-aid off hard. It's an incredibly tough decision to make but look at their results. They shored up defense and net in a single trade. Their offense carries the team and now they are more complete and can compete in the playoffs. It's not fun seeing this go down but there is no doubt in my mind it was the correct move to make for winning. A bummer they'll have to play against him on Vegas
Facts, i love quick! Wanted his jersey so bad! I wonder if there on sale. Ill still buy it, hes a legend in LA, its a business Kings made the right move.
@@Akziis as someone who saw the islanders hold on to their dynasty players to long this was the right move. it was sad watching billy smith his last few seasons he was not an nhl caliber goalie at that point

reminds me of the zuccarello trade. Sucks when the GM doesnt have a finger on the pulse and doesnt talk to the players beforehand
I feel so bad for all dem
Surprised they didn't throw out the word "betrayal"
Quick will have his number retired in the rafters at Staples and a place in the heart of every Kings fan forever. With that said, the NHL is a business and the organization did what it had to do to try and improve the team. Professional sports is a ruthless business ---- Kings fan since 73.

Loved the Kings way back when Wayne Simmonds was on the team, they were a wagon.. You can tell how upset these guys are about Quick leaving.. It's a shame. EVEN IF he's not performing well, my god he's practically in his last year or so in the league anyway, just let the dude finish out his career where it all started. What a disaster. Rob Blake is garbage. He's effectively doing EXACTLY what the Illitches did to Federov when he was with the Wings, and look how that turned out. Bad Blood.
Yep, I didn't like that at all, I think Doughty c9ming to wings
The scary part of the shadiness of quick being traded to Vegas may be as worse as flurry leaving

What a gut punch to a group of guys that have been together for so long.
Really bad move by the Kings

Quick is a legend. And I say that as a nucks fan. Sometimes you ask guys like that wether they'd like to go on another cup run somewhere else one more time. Not trade them for spare parts without telling anyone. Horrible treatment for a guys who's number should he in the rafters the day he retires.
The business side of professional sports is ruthless. Results driven. Organization could care less about what you did for them 10 years ago. It's about what are you doing for us now? In Quick's case, apparently not enough....
Positive thing is at least Columbus did the right thing once they saw quick was upset and sent him to a team with a playoff spot. Thing is Vegas and LA it’s only a few hours away
