According to vocalist Sammy Hagar: "Chickenfoot started off with me, Michael Anthony, and Chad Smith jamming at my club, Cabo Wabo, in Mexico. Then people started asking us when we were going to tour, make a record, etc. So I said if we're going to do this properly then we're going to have to get a guitarist, so let's talk to Joe Satriani. As far as I'm concerned he's the best guitarist in the world
Chad showed up at Cabo Wabo and started jamming with Sammy and Mikey. They called it Chickenfoot as the three talons represented each of those three guys. It was a joke, of course, but it stuck. Sammy said we need to find the best guitarist in the world and got Joe on board. The rest is history. Love The Foot!!! The live shows were so electric.

Their chemistry is just a joy to watch. Probably the only "supergroup" I know of that seemed to just naturally work really well together and I love everything they've put out.

I went and saw Chickenfoot when they first came out and it was the loudest show I have ever been to and I have seen Ted Nugent 3 times ! They were freaking amazing ! I've seen Sammy as a solo artist and with Van Halen , Michael with Van Halen , and my first time seeing Chad Smith and Joe Satriani.
Absolutely killed it!!!

Thank you for doing this one! Not only one of my favorite bands, but my favorite CF song. They did two albums of all original music and every song is great. “Bigfoot” is a great song and the official video is hilarious! Thank you THANK YOU!
Check out their videos for "Oh Yeah" or "Soap on a Rope" and you will see the chemistry as it's mainly just them playing around.

Greatest Ever, PERIOD!!!
The members all met down at Sammy Hagar annual birthday bashes he has at his Cabo Wabo club down in Mexico. They were jamming and realized they had great chemistry then decided to do a record when Chad Smith had free time after the Chili Peppers tour was over. To record the album, Sammy said they pretty much just played live in the Studio. A couple of the songs on the first album are first takes with no overdubs.
Saw Chickenfoot at the Filmore in Detroit. One of the best shows of my life!

I can't remember how they all got together. But Sammy and Michael have been great friends since before Sammy was in Van Halen. I'm pretty sure this band was put together shortly after Michael was fired from Van Halen.

Another "supergroup" you need to check out is Velvet Revolver. They rock as well. The band was formed by former Guns 'n Roses drummer Matt Sorrem, bassist Duff Mckagon, and great guitarist Slash
