    Poor Roger, he has always signed himself as Roger E Moore, he was very prolific in the 80s in the Dragon magazine and White Dwarf in the UK, but everyone thought of him wearing a suit and trying not to stir his Martini with a Walther PPK.

      It is the time of the year when I fancy myself some DnD content and your channel does deliver on that in spades - awesome work!
      P.S. Also, after spending so much time with Blizzard games it's hard not to notice how many concept and straight out names they have "refitted" into their games although with mixed results 😒

    in the canon of my home game’s forgotten realms, chauntea created the halflings from early humans. though she did it to protect them from the races hunting them, it was out of a sense of selfishnesses and pride that she changed the humans to suit her perfectly-sculpted planet, rather than change the landscape to accommodate them better. she created an aspect (yondalla) to be their personal goddess, answering prayers, keeping them safe, and making sure the halflings never felt alone or afraid again (explaining the Brave and Lucky features)

    I'll never understand why dragonborn of all things became a core race, while aasimar were snuffed. Genasi I understand not being core because of the 4e mess and their complexity as a species, beastfolk (ie aarakocra, gnoll, tabaxi, kenku) i understand because if their niche nature, monstrous races (ie orcs, kobolds, and the goblinoid diaspora) i understand because of their place in the lore as opposition forces to the core races... but the aasimar really didn't need to be done dirty like that

    TLDR: most of the races we know are confirmed to be or are likely to have once been, aliens.

    if elves and humans can interbreed and orcs and humans can interbreed shouldn't it follow that elves and orcs can interbreed as well? why are there no half orc/half elves then?

    • @havokmusicinc

      humans are incredible biocompatible and fecund; elves and orcs not so much

      @@havokmusicinc . D&D humans are not so different from real-life humans. When they meet a new humanoid race, they first fight with it, then rape it and enslave it. The only difference is that in real life, there is only one type of human left in the world... and yet we continue to war and bang with each other after.

    Other races: We were created by gods
    Humans: That’s cool bro, we popped into existence well at least some of us, yah they were brought here from another dimension but get this they also popped into existence lol what are the odds.

      @@HarbsNarbs Ya, he always says that ScAg is a weird book and he stuck to the original lore of 1st edition through 3.5 i believe, he likes the old lore more and it makes more sense because WotC are heavily censoring and removing the old amazing and brutal lore, they literally described the mountain orc in PhP but slapped a picture of a gentlemen gray orc lol and the gray orcs are the one who make beneficial marriages through alliances not the mountain orcs who just enslave and breed/rape

    • @HarbsNarbs
      @HarbsNarbs  3 года назад +1

      I agree that some of the older lore is more interesting. I use a mix and I used Races of Faerun for a lot of this video, which is third edition. Unfortunately Wizards regularly retcon and change things without much explanation!

    • @HarbsNarbs

      I feel like the majority of this is written from the perspective of human society and so they use those terms. Maybe orcs and elves would call them half human?
