What is an Aquifer?

- This video describes the basic characteristics of two types of aquifers and identifies four types of geological units that make up many of the aquifers in the US. We compare and contrast unconfined and confined aquifers and show the distribution of aquifer systems composed of sand and gravel, sandstone, carbonates (limestone), and fractured igneous and metamorphic rocks. On the basis of the maps we show you, what is the most likely composition of your local aquifer system?

Thank you "GeoScience Videos" because now I understand aquifers.

Very helpful, Finally I know the artesian well.
Very informative. Thank you

Thanks for this video, needed it for homework LOL
What field of study is this please tell me. Thank you

what is the thickness of unconfined aquifer ? and thickness of confined bed? or the distance between unconfined aquifer and confined aquifer? and the thickness of confined aquifer?
This is a great video❤😊.
Great video
This video is very helpful because I watch this video before 5 min of my 3 mid semester exam so thanks for it and make more important video ❤️. :(
You got this!

Every moment I continue living is a moment of continued unending agony.
Every second blurs into infinity, until every moment is an eternity of ceaseless pain.
What song is that from?
@@WillyJunior i made it up for the funnies, its not from an actual song
Nice one. How effective is Artificial aquifer?.
Studying this for my dwarf fortress skills
Great video! I only have one question. Are confined aquafirs always underneath unconfined aquafirs? is it just most of the time? sometimes?
they must be underneath of / confined by other layer to be called confined aquifer
Great channel. Thanks to makers.
sexy face
I wonder if there is anyone watching this not here for school purposes...
I'm just fascinated by hydrogeology
Just read about Fiji water being extracted from Aquafiers and now I’m here.
Huh...
I just watch these type of video because I am a water intusitest
@@kingmonk7422 Thats neat!

What makes an aquifer unique ?
Valuable Lesson
I don’t get how Fiji Is not dirty

Makes sense 👍
So chocuifers are resources of chocos? Makes sense

Not able to understand the video
intresting
here from Core 4 science
How could you cover US aquifers without mentioning the Ogallala, which runs from the northern plains down to Texas? Shouldn't you cover a few topical issues, such as how much aquifer subsidence (and loss of capacity) can California expect if it keeps pumping out more and more water from the central valley aquifers?
Why are we watching this?
I was searching if Florida homes had basements. What about you?
I'm stupid, I don't get this
😂😂😂
Everyone learns differently doesn’t mean you are stupid or maybe you just smoked way too much weed for today
Hello
I understand what is aquifer
Basically a sponge
Hiiiiii

me too buddy
Well… it’s fer aqua
You guys left out the major point.. That its a natural resource.... Made by mother nature... You make it sound as if its man.made.
Yes science isn't very touchy feely. Deal with it.
Only an idiot would draw that conclusion.
Aqua is fer drinking. Dhhhhhaaa.
Well frick science
Why on earth would you have that male narrator for this educational video? I missed every 3rd or 4th word he said. If your going to teach, do it clearly or why bother? The woman's spoke clearly, but I still got only half of what was said. Ditch the male narrator and have the woman narrate the whole thing.
If you don't understand the words he's saying, you can click the settings button and use the subtitles.
that is an interesting point you make - we tune in to the one instructor and it immediately bounces to the other, and then back and forth. great point
