Got my Fantastibulous recliner from Lazboy a month ago and was about to return it because of the looseness issue. Now I know how to Adjust it. You saved me time, effort and frustration. Thank you.
AWESOME! That's what I like to hear Oday Dean. I'm here to be helpful and I'm glad that you ended up keeping your recliner. I don't know how I survived without mine.
Thank you for the tutorial. I just bought the "Jasper Rocking Recliner a couple of months ago and was told that it was adjustable but did not get any instructions on how to do it. It looks simple enough to me. 👍
I just bought a second hand rocking recliner. It's so comfortable, except that the back won't stay in position. I either have to sit straight up or it creeps to a full reclined position with no in-between. I'm disabled and need to be able to easily adjust it.
Will that tension to tight cause the chair to slowly creep forward to upright after Ive leaned back while in it? I lean back far and it slowly creeps forward as if I dont have enough weight on the upper part of the chair to keep it back. Thanks for any help.
If you tighten the tension springs the chair that back will be harder to recline. If you loosen the springs it will move more freely. If you're leaning back and its still creeping up on you, I would recommend to tighten the wing nuts a little bit more. Please let us know if this helps!
Do you have any experience with power recliners? Have a La-Z-Boy Trouper sofa (w/ recliner) + stand-alone recliner... The sofa recliner recently developed an issue where the foot rest will not retract fully using the power buttons, but it can be pushed (almost) closed with one's feet. The power buttons do, incidentally, lift the footrest properly. I looked under the recliner, and there are way too many moving parts to simply start poking around willy-nilly. Any ideas?
Hey Kicknotes, Thanks for the question, and we''re sorry to hear that you're having problems with your recliner. I reached out to our service department and here is what they recommend. Place your leg firmly against the footrest. Push the button to open the footrest. In a couple of seconds, you should hear a loud pop. After you hear the loud pop press the button to close your footrest. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE THE FOOTREST CLOSED OR ALLOW IT TO RUN FOR MORE THAN A COUPLE OF SECONDS. If this does not work then we would send a tech to their home to inspect if they wanted to have it serviced. Please don't hesitate to reach out to La-Z-Boy Customer Care if you have any service requests or issues at 1-800-375-6890. I hope this is helpful!

Hello there I gave you a thumbs up. I will subscribe if you please answer this question for me. I have a lazy boy sofa recliner. Overtime everything gets loose. I'm not necessarily talking about the tilt back. Are there other nuts and bolts that need to be snugged to keep it from falling apart ? Thanks. Keith
Hi Keith! Thanks for the thumbs up on the video. We're sorry you're experiencing loose areas on your La-Z-Boy sofa. Outside of the tilt back, we generally do not have many customer issues that require a customer to need to make other adjustments. We'd recommend reaching out to your nearest La-Z-Boy dealer or authorized service provider to discuss the issues you're experiencing with your furniture to see if there are any other adjustments that can be made. Please let us know if you have any other questions though, we'll be happy to try and answer them for you. Thank you!

Hi @ChunkyBoy317, that part you're referring to is called the slide. They are fairly easy to replace through an authorized dealer and service department. Start by contacting the La-Z-Boy dealer nearest you and they can get you in touch with someone in service.
I have a La-z-boy Pinnacle glider rocker/recliner. I too have difficulty keeping the backrest of the chair back because after a while it slowly creeps to bring me to a full sitting position. The only way to keep it from doing that is if I have the seat base keep clicking all the way, this make my legs too high, which makes all the fluid in my legs go to my thighs and where they connect to my hips- swell. Because of a back injury I have to sleep in this recliner. I don't know what to do. Is my problem the back springs, the gliding mechanism or what and how can things be adjusted to work out best for me. I don't want the foot rest/my feet to ever be higher than the position they are when I sit. Can you help me figure things out or should I just get a Pinnacle recliner (no rocker nor glider action)?

I've looked high and low how to make the sofa recline more than it does. I feel like I'm still sitting up in mine, and everything I've found is tension adjustments.

When I push back on the back of the Lazyboy chair with my back it use to go back smoothly. Now there is a thump that is repetitive while i push back. You can feel it more that you can hear it. Any ideas? Thanks
Hey Ken, We're sorry to hear about the issue with your chair. This is a great place to start with your diagnostic. We try to be a helpful source of furniture knowledge. This should be attempted with the footrest initially in the down position.

I want to be able to lie flat if I want to. Sometimes, we fall asleep on our couches, and sleeping half sitting up isn't comfortable in the slightest.
