Hello folks! Some of my veiwers have been asking about the 128th ounce jig heads I use in this video. I apologize for saying it like that it's just a habbit of mine. What I mean is 1/128oz. jig head. Sorry for the confusion for those of you looking to try out this rig. Thank all of you for watching and Remember go fishin when you can cause its gooooood fer ye!
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine I love your videos and I couldn't agree more that catching bluegills with light tackle is so much fun. You have one of the best fishing channels out there, and your advice is really on point. Thank-you and go fishing when you can because its good for you.
Richard I like your style , I have never seen you damage the fish population , like some of the others do. you at the best teacher for fishing that I have seen on you tube.Me and my wife love to crappie fish and we look forward every week to see what you are going to teach us next , thank you for sharing the good info.
Love watching you fish. I live in Napoleon Mo. Every lake is rather small and have no fish to speak of. So I sure enjoy watching you fish. Have learned much from you, thank you sir.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. I live on Guntersville Lake and fish there alot too. Love your videos & glad you release alot of your fish. You don't see that much on Guntersville with anything other than bass, especially when they are spawning and easier to catch. People tend to load up their coolers, buckets, and livewells with fish that are about to reproduce. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with keeping a mess of fish or two, I keep some now and then myself, but anglers on Guntersville tend to overdo it sometimes. Since you live there, you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't & see this comment, we literally have people targeting crappie with cast nets sometimes, and usually once someone finds a bed of bream or crappie they fish it for days keeping anything they catch with any size to it until there are no fish left on the bed.
Gofish 1 I agree 100%. Nothing wrong with keeping a mess or two. catch and release is important for the future of our fishery! Thanks for the sub and I hope you continue to enjoy my videos!
Back years ago in Tennessee I got into fishing for bluegill with an ultralight Daiwa combo. I had so much fun with that. Getting into trying different baits like worms and crickets and different plastic grubs and small spinners. Loads of fun catching them and you're correct as anyone knows who's done, they sit nice on a plate and in your stomach. Everybody go fishin' when ye can. I can't do it much anymore. Do it while ye can cause it's gooood fer ye!
I really enjoy your videos and always your endings lol. Please don't ever go commercial on us like some of these other fishing channels. Stay simple and stay country 👌👍
First full moon in May in Alabama. And I missed it Glad you didn't, Richard. Thanks for keeping the videos coming! Would love for you to show your loyal fans how you target shellcrackers. Many thanks for the time and effort to create these videos. I know it is not nearly as quick and easy as it seems.
Richard I went fishing yesterday and I caught 2 walleye one was 21 1/2 inch and I was using bobby garlin baby shads we put both of the walleye back but it was good fishing yesterday and thank you for being one of my favorite channels🐟
Great video, as usual! I was up Lake Guntersville on yesterday bluegill fishing and had a blast. I found some beds with fish still on them. Caught a limit (50). It was a great day...👍👌
I am watching sparingly cause I don't want to run out of movies. This is informative and makes me want to go fishing....bad! Cancer has kept me off the water for almost 15 years. Tell Elmo get those honeydos done and be nice! 🙃
Thank you Danny and J.step for saying that! J.step i'm sorry to hear about you medical condition, I will keep you in my prayers buddy! God loves you and I do too!
Great video Richard! That's some fun fishing and I think it's the best eating also. Got several bags in the freezer to fry up Memorial Day weekend. Thanks so much for all these great videos. They sure are fun to watch! Favorite channel by far!
Thanks for the great tips on blue gill fishing...its something that I overlook most of the time....you got me so wound up about it I am going to order me a couple more ultra lights and some 2 lbs test and some of those crawdad with the sparkle 1/128th oz jig and set me up two poles just for this.....I believe I can use some of my trout jigs for this also...how many times have i been working a wooded bank and smell that wonderful aroma of a bream bed and just go right on past it.....well hopefully in a few days I will have a couple of outfits on board that i can grab and try to catch a few off one of those beds.....thanks Mr Fishing Machine.....love that boat too.....have a great day sir. .......if you ever have some spare time I sure would appreciate you doing a video on how to fish tall rock walls....In our lake...Cherokee up here its a big lake and has a lot of high rock walls....i can see the fish out from it on the fish finder but cant seem to find the right combo to make em bite. Thanks again.....Bill Jones
I love fishing bull gills. I think they are one of the best eatin fish there is . Here in fl I get them using 16th and thirty second size jigs . The same ones I use for crappie . Super video . Pound for pound they are top of the line in the fight department. 😏😏
awesome I think I'm gonna try to fish that way I usually tight line fish using a cricket and I love them funny little skits lol keep up the great videos
"Feesh awn the bayed".....I love the southern accents - I was born there. You are smart using 2 lb. test - I always forget to do that, I'm sure you outfish me. Good point about loop knots not best on 2 lb. test. Keep posting videos!
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine I just got into fishing like THIS WEEK. I started on Tuesday but it didn't work out wish a "pen" pole, so I got a normal sizes rod from Walmart, and then went out yesterday (Wednesday) and caught 4 small blue Gill. And then today but only for an hour before the sun went down. So tomorrow I'm hitting the lake to relax and catch some. Thanks for the info in this video, helps a lot.
Great vid Richard my favorite fishes I fish all year for them thru the ice and all season open water. I use 2 pound with a slip cork and a loop knot no problem the only time I use 4 pound is when bass are bedding like now and I catch alot on my micro jigs
I'm becoming more and more interested in fishing more micro tackle. I've done it for years but not as much as i should had. I'm going to further these techniques because it's alot of fun and sporty! Thank you for watching Bruce!
There is a pond at my shore complex and I just recently started fishing there. I’ve been using rooster tails on 2 pound line and I’ve caught bass and bluegill. I’m an amateur so when I caught the bluegill I got pricked on his spines. That’s when my neighbor showed me how to unhook him. 😂
Richard.....I have really enjoyed watching all your videos....I just want to see Elmo just once.....I`m fixin to start bluegill and shellcracker fishing and crappie....someone else can have the bass...with the light line and tackle a bluegill/shellcracker will be comparable to a 2 lb bass, and they will taste better....I live in J`ville,al.....one day I`ll see you on Weiss or Guntersvillle....at the end of this video I noticed that you had a lot of rocks piled up against a small tree....that wouldn`t happen to be rocks suitable for flintnapping arrowheads would it ? I`m going to start flintnapping too....I sure would like to find someone to help find good flint in this area....John martin
Thank you Rd H! I bought a ton of these from walmart about 3 or so years ago. Sense then I can't find them. If I run up on some somewhere I will let you know!
When fishing for bluegill and crappie- if using live bait do you try to set the hook after a first bite? or wait until the second? I've been waiting for the 2nd and wonder if i'm missing fish. I figured if it was live bait, that jig/wax worm could be in it's mouth while i'm waiting on the 2nd bite? Idk..and do you just raise the pole to set the hook? Thanks in advance.
Hey Richard how are ya doin? I wanna say first that I am really enjoying watching your videos and please keep up the great work! Now I have a question for ya! Thank you Richard! I have two different boats. One is a little smaller and lighter than the other so i will use it when panfishing. I think Granny Ferris was right! God bless her! Thank you so much for subscribing Richard!

Can you show us how you clean and fry up the bluegill? Thanks!
I need to this one day! I've been geting alot of request for it so i will make it happen! Thank you for watching Conrod!
Love your videos as always btw - where can i buy those micro craw fish and what color ans size are those ?
Thank you Rd H! I bought a ton of these from walmart about 3 or so years ago. Sense then I can't find them. If I run up on some somewhere I will let you know!
great eating, really video!
thank you purple wings!
Another great vid. What size reel are you using?
By the time you factor in the time it takes to cut worms and rig them up I believe those trout magnet crawdads catch panfish faster than anything.
Thanks in advance.
richard, can i put 2 pound line on any spinning reel?
You can as long as it has a real good drag system. Thanks for watching Lee!
Hey richard do u use beetle spins to.
Awesome fishing video. Is that a whip'r craw you are using?
Thank you Lance! I believe it is
Hey Richard how are ya doin? I wanna say first that I am really enjoying watching your videos and please keep up the great work! Now I have a question for ya! I have been taking some of your techniques to my nearest lake and I keep getting hung up on structure and I wanna know how are you not getting hung up in your videos?
I get hung up sometimes myself. In my particular lake their is more aquatic vegatation then stumps/ rocks/and other things you can get hung up on. On your lake you may just have more things in the water to get hung up on. Thanks for watching Travis!
Richard, never subscribed before. Figured I would subscribe to your channel because you are just fishing and talking. Learning a lot from you. Fished a bunch when I was a kid catching blue gill and sunfish with Granny Ferris in Michigan, she lived to be a hundred and fifteen. Fishing was her favorite thing. Thought it was the reason she lived so long. Low stress and good adrenaline flow. Learned lots about life from her. Just one question, how many boats do you have? Seems like every video, which I enjoy, you are in a different boat. Are you using Elmo's boats? Go fishing when you can, because, it's good for ya, and keep videos coming. Grew up in Michigan. Retired now and trying to relearn fishing in Texas. Way different from lake fishing in Michigan.
Thank you Richard! I have two different boats. One is a little smaller and lighter than the other so i will use it when panfishing. I think Granny Ferris was right! God bless her! Thank you so much for subscribing Richard!
How can you tail which is male or female?
biggray94 males are bigger and bright orange belly
Thanks, going Bream fishing tomorrow, I went to Walmart to get tackle they only had 4 lb test line and #10 jig head with red hook, I have some 1 inch plastic shrimp. I got some Red Worms just in case. I will be on a Kayak that I just installed an electric motor for the first time. There are nice Crappies and Blue Catfish in Lake Manatee and I plan to get me some.
James Gates females are normally larger and have a belly full of eggs when you catch them on beds. Males are smaller and squirt sperm out when you handle them.
nice,yea there out now
Yes sir thak you for watching Sq hunter!
Damn that's a ton of beds.
69,000 acres of water.. thats just a tiny bit of them lol
