- I am working on 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE 5.0L V8 Engine with Blown Head Gasket and other Possible common issues with timing. This Range Rover is fitted with Ford's 5.0L V8 Engine which is found on most Jaguars and Land Rover vehicles in the same years. I will be attempting to bring this back to life and fix and replace parts in this project.
Quick question- if a 5.0 has had the head gaskets already replaced, is it likely that the timing chain guides were updated as well during that repair?

Good luck. I will be following along. I will be doing the same repair on a 2011 LR4 which has the same engine. I am picking up the vehicle tomorrow and will begin the tear down next week.

What causes the 5.0 to blow head gaskets ? I thought this engine was reliable ! Looks like I might be purchasing this 2009 model it has the 4.6 way more reliable..
Actually yours only comes with the 4.2 SC or 4.4 NA
These commonly blow due to people overheating the motor excessively.
Is it possible add P/N of tools you had to buy for the job? :)

I found a few in sections. Not anything on full breakdown. What are you trying to fix? I started with fuel injectors, intake manifold gaskets, timing all in different videos.
@@saint1268 I’m just trying to see what other people work on and learn but nearly everyone has a sport or supercharged engine
It is the same 5.0 on hse or sport. The supercharged I believe the only difference is the intake with supercharger mounting and ECU. You can use those videos as reference as well.
eBay also has maintenance e books you can purchase as well. Inexpensive and helps a lot.
These are $80k automobiles and MANY owners expressed this issue. WHY isn’t this a factory defect!?
