You have such a calm demeanor when talking to people that it’s inspiring. How do you keep calm especially when people are negative and accusatory to you?

This man has seen God. Not in the way you are thinking, but rather he has a really good relationship with the Lord.

He ignores us just like he ignores the truth. It makes his life easier.
Besides his god likes it when the correct people are hurt by his words.

The confusing part is that we have labeled sexual attractions as an orientation. That makes LGBT people identify greatly with the action. But God saves LGBT people too. I used to consider myself gay, and I was married to a man and we were together for 5 years. He was the love of my life, but I got cancer last year and that led me to becoming a Christian, and making the extremely difficult decision of leaving my partner. I am not lying when I say it was excruciating, but I have come to believe in God's design for marriage. I was very hateful towards God before that, and yet He saved me. So Christians, be loving and kind to the LGBT community. I know they can be hard to evangelize to, but we will be known by our love! Remember, we were all sinful and lost in our own sins at once. God bless

GO BACK TO HIM. PLEASE! If you can, take him back.
Under Jesus there are only 2 laws:
Love God with all you are.
      Love others as yourself.
      (Matt 22:34-40)
We are ONLY under the Laws of Jesus. (Hebrews 7:11-28)
There is no sin in you loving a man. There is sin in you hurting him. (Romans 13:8-10)
Those pushing rules over love are the problem. *Jesus pushed love over rules.* That's what upset the Pharisees so much.
His yoke is easy and His burden light. You don't get that with hundreds of rules to memorize and follow. You get that with 2 rules.
*HEAL IN THE ARMS OF YOUR TRUE LOVE.* Don't let this world tell you who that person is.

Under Jesus there are 2 laws: Love God and Love you neighbor. (Matt 22:34-40)
As such NO OTHER LAWS APPLY. (Hebrews 7:11-28)
Nothing about being LGBT+ breaks the Laws of Jesus. Quite the opposite. An LGBT+ person accepting who they are GROWS THEIR ABILITY TO LOVE.

@@r-platt We don't do well to apply specific phrases in ways that uphold what WE want to be the truth.
So then, what is the truth? Man and woman's marriage and intimacy is a reflection of Christ to His church. His bride, as He plainly tells us repeatedly. God will not accept a perversion of what He created to be right and good. If man and woman, through marriage and intimacy, are direct reflections of the love he has for His church, it would serve us very poorly to contradict that which was made holy.
Sexual immorality runs deep and I believe every human struggles with it in some form or another. The only sin which is worse, because it leads to a plethora of other sin, would be pride. The point is, the 'lgbt' community is not an exclusive sin standing out on its own as you're unfortunately painting it to be. It is one of many sexual sins; it just so happens to have more of a spotlight on it today.
Sincerely drawing near to Christ will ultimately cause the individual to lose interest in the things they once burned for. This isn't to say the struggle vanishes, but the desires change, a new heart is made, old things pass away, and the man / woman is made new.
God wants the broken hearted and repentant sinner; not the one who embraces self and celebrates it.

@@hoobler08 We can use the Bible to include and heal as Jesus did.
Or we can use it like the Pharisees to enforce rules even when it strips love of all power.
Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden light. Do you get that with hundreds of rules? No. You get that with 2 laws based on LOVE.
Check out Hebrews 7. Verses 11 through 28 tell us why Jesus can make His claim.

Yeah, I agree. If Jesus hadn't died on the cross for us we would need to go to hell.
Yet "All you need to do is believe Jesus died on the cross for you" can be quite a dangerous thing to say in some cases. Because who else believes in Jesus? The devil and the demons! Actually, I'm pretty sure they understand very clearly how all of this works, that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and the don't have to believe that God exists - they know it 😅
Yet they are not going to heaven.
Why? Because they do not love God.
Staying on your couch and going to church on sundays won't get you into heaven.
We as christians have quite some tasks to do. Even though Jesus is the key to heaven, we still need to move our feet to get through the door ^^
And if we "just" believe in God, then we will probably hear "And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" (Matthew 7:23, ESV)

Ever wonder why those bumper stickers say, "Not Of This World"??
John 18:36 My Kingdom is not of this world.
God set the rules to ender His Kingdom, not to live in this world.
Jesus came along and simplified the rules - His yoke is easy and His burden light.
He didn't change the law. He didn't abolish it. He fulfilled it so that we - His followers - are free from it. (Hebrews 7:11-28)
    LOVE God
    LOVE others
All other laws hang from these commands. (Matthew 22:34-40)
Love does no harm to a neighbor therefor Love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:8-10)
Where is being LGBT a sin under that doctrine?

Just a question, so currently I believe that I am making it to heaven because of God's gift not for what I have or will ever do but does that mean that if I'm praying to God about sin and humbling myself to talk to God about my sins would that be wrong and not fully putting my trust in God or is that the right thing to do

because people suck. That's why we need Jesus. As Christians, our job is to show love and respect to everyone and do our best to lead people to Christ. I'm guilty of this as well. We've all sinned, which is why we all need to grow in Jesus together.
