Beautiful hand work to finish off a classic design body makes me proud to see someone make something that at first seems impossible.Multiple years in the body industry this gives me hope that something made by your hand and hard work will survive past your time here.Thank you for this effort it means more to many than i can explain.
Love all this stuff and it amazes me. I just don't understand how you make money doing this . How many hours must you have in a custom built bumper. How much do you have to sell that car for to turn a profit and pay everybody. I imagine youtube isn't paying the bills yet.
High end shop builds start at 125k in most cases. Somebody just spent 1.2 million on a Buick grand national. Even if he hasn’t snagged those clientele yet a build like this puts them on the map.
hmmm...my next skill to get is tig welding. and i have an MG midget with the rubber bumpers removed..now I have seen another option...make a 'chrome' bumper. Hmm... Seeing that it CAN be done is half the battle!
nice work, definitely not a diy project..need a lot of equipment to get it done. I need to make a custom bumper for my corvair project, so would like a way to get it done. Gotta wonder if making a mold out of fiberglass so one could stamp out a thin aluminum sheet and then bond it to the fiberglass.
wow.... Who do I talk to... to get a life reset. I'd like to go back to my teens and go into this field. I'm 67 and been doing HVAC/R since about 1980. But I love fabricating and being meticulous. You won't find a neater lineset /electrical /sheetmetal work on a job than mine...to brag a little bit. Because I love doing that kind of thing. Life's so short and I wish I could have had better direction steering when I was young. Oh well...maybe in heaven.
I have been playing with the idea of doing alloy bumperets for a few years on my previous project I still have it it's just not practical at this point in life I was always concerned about the visibility of the finished weld I have finished plenty of jobs to a polished finish but I have never been happy with the shadow of the weld seem You mentioned that you can see them but I couldn't in the video so they can't be that bad or is it just the camera compensation?
As you know the right tools make all the difference, send them out to get polished. It will be worth it, and it gives you the time to work on other necessary areas. Bill it accordingly and it's a must to seal that up or it will look like shit in a short period of time.
Beautiful work. It's great to see craftsmen doing what they do best.
great... now i want to build a bumper
Do it!
Beautiful work ! I really love how it makes the car look ! More people need to break out of their comfort zone and make new styled pieces .....
These bumpers are gorgeous!!! Beautiful styling.
Nice. Now I want to come sweep floors in your shop (at 57) and then make those bumpers for my dad’s 62 409 Impala.
Talk about craftsmanship!

IT really compliments the rear much better than stock. Front looks great too.

Saw the impala in the hallway at SEMA
The construction didn’t help, but it looked awesome

Way to go Idaho #3rd
What was the total cost on build ?
As the saying goes, If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.

Buddy drove his drag car with plastic bumpers on street. Cop who recognized car busted him.
First
Second😂
The diffuser in the bumper doesn't work. Diffusers make me think of F1 cars. Naked steel bumpers take me back to pre-80s O.E.M. autos.
