    These sounds like fun, seems similar to Line Outline 117 ski. Easy to turn, floating and surfing in powder. I would like someone to review those and compare them to others so i know what I might be missing. Do you have any experience on those skis, or the Bacon?

    Elliott, thanks for the review. Question for you, would you recommend them as a touring/hybrid ski? I have the new Rustler 9 that I use as my daily driver and love them, but am looking to do a little more back of mountain and touring next year. I'd like the ski to also serve as my powder ski since I don't know how often I'll be touring at this point. I was leaning toward the QST Echo, but have heard this is light enough that it would also work.
    For reference, I'm in CO.

    Hey Elliot, great review! I am just wondering if you have ever heard of Fat-ypus skis, I would love if you could review them given there is limited videos and information about that ski company and their skis. More specifically the D'Riddim, B.U. and M5 skis, they have a very short turn radius which is surprising for their size and the specs indicate that they are relatively light weight when compared to other powder orientated skis (excluding the bents haha).
    Regards,

    Dude! Today I so quickly soured on my Bent 100's. I felt like totally overpowered the ski in every situation - from groomers to powder. Now I'm shopping for a dedicated powder ski and you've made up my mind. I love pivoting through trees and finding pow stashes. Have you seen the new 2025 graphic? It's the actually the most beautiful ski on the market. Like an intergalactic acid trip.

    I think the idea of a daily driver ski should be much more fluid than what it seems to be right now. A resort day is some combination of powder slashing, tree running (soft snow, chutes, moguls), groomer bombing, and sometimes an ice surprise. If you buy one set of skis, you’d just optimise for for the part that you love the most, to get the most fun out of it. Who cares about the rest of it. Almost any relatively modern ski can make it down the mountain pretty well even in conditions it’s not optimised for. wide ski’s still carve enough to be fun. Thin Slim 88’s still float enough to be mostly fun in the trees.
    I got a pair of Line Vision 118’s (183) with Fritschi Tecton 13’s for this season thinking I’d mostly tour and resort tree ski with them on new powder days. Absolutely just ended up daily driving them, even if I have a few pairs around 100mm with different purpose in their design. They carve enough, they hold enough on ice, so much fun on mixed and bumpy trees that have not seen new snow for weeks (something about how they conform to terrain), damp and light at the same time, and oh my god, the runs where you hit even just patches of untouched pow. I don’t understand why I’d use another pair, because at the top of the mountain I can decide to do anything, and they just work.
    The one ski quiver and daily driver needs a rebranding. wide all day is just fine.

    Completely agree about the topsheets. Looks like graffiti. Hopefully you get to ski the new 2025 Bent Chetler 120 on a deep pow day next season. Get it in the 192 length. The float and playfulness (at least the current version I demoed) are amazing. Super easy and fun in deep snow... similar to the Aramda ARV JJ 116. The Bent 110 and 120 ski short, so get the 190s length for extra float.

  • @simongloutnez589
    @simongloutnez589 5 месяцев назад +1

    We had a very similar experience, the best buyancy there is. Their floatation is phenomenal. Easy to flick around, so great for skiing moguls (wich is very impressive for a 110!!) It can carve like quite well, but you gotta adjust your expectations cause if you just drive the shovel your gonna overpower it easily.
    I really liked it in the park 😂 it felt a bit weird on rails and on sketchy landings cause you have to land on carve since its so wide. But its so light and nimble that its fine in the air.
    Overall it makes so much sense as a powder/freestyle ski.

    Excellent review and for me the most interesting Bent by a mile. In 100mm I want more power, a 120 is just to wide to ski often- 110mm is goldilocks for a pow ski that isnt a total bore or chore on groomers.
    What was your mount point Elliot? I was looking at these and thing it was too forward to ski front of the boot in any soft snow even in the most directional setting.

    • @saxonski6146
      @saxonski6146 3 месяца назад

      @@YesS410 I personally haven't had any problems with them. They may be soft but the top sheet are basically impossible to chip. As well as the edges and sidewalls. I am still a kid so I don't weigh much but even if I was bigger I couldn't imagine breaking the ski to the core or anything like that. And I don't ski these lightly the bases are also pretty durable as I only have on core shot from a rock in the landing after a big cliff. But other than that little rocks branches or even like tree taps don't hurt the bases at all.

    great review -- I will point out that the condidtions you skied the 100s was very different from the 110s AND you're rating them for different use cases. If you rated the 110s as all mtn skis they'd probably lose 2 points vs what you rate them as podwer skis. Goes back to what i was saying about the 100s being east coast and Pacific NW "powder" and tree skis instead of all mtn skis.. and the carving performance (or lack theerof) not being their major selling point...

For a 110 underfoot ski I'd want a burlier ski to charge through chop.
