Hi Rees, One of your subscribers mentioned that you gave me a shout out recently and at first I couldn’t find it.Didn’t know you had a podcast going as well, this is great news for my daily drive. It’s very kind of you to mention me and much appreciated my friend. Hope to see you soon Alex
Great Ramble again! Was really surprised to see Sonic running so smoothly on the GX4000 ... if ever the rom should pop up, that would be reason enough to get my system out of the box again! Cheers!
I was wondering what happened to Alex since I hadn't seen a video from him for a while. Sad that he sold off the Archive but glad to see it will live thanks to Holly. Also glad to see he's still around the RUclipss. Definitely going to be heading over to his new channel.
I recently stumbled on your RUclips content. And your weekly ramble has become a staple of my podcast listening every week. I get to live all things weird and retro vicariously through your videos. Always so wonderful to listen to. Thank you. 🙏
What's all this now? [edit: Had to post that just to be the first poster. Thanks for the Amstrad history lesson. I'm outside the UK and I don't know anything about that company or person. That garage arcade is awesome!!]
The reason people would want to turn their GX4000 into a CPC is that there are thousands of games for the CPC, and only 27 for the GX4000. I was really excited when Sugar bought the Amstrad rights back from Comcast, but I'm still not clear if that includes Sinclair. If it did, that could be quite exciting for new / recreations of both Amstrad & Sinclair machines in the future.
True enough, but there are also thousands of CPCs out there 😁 There's the technical challenge of making something do what it wasn't originally designed to do as well of course, which is something I can very much get on board with.
The GX4000 has never fully had it's potential unlocked. It's tragic that it wasn't released a year or two earlier. Sonic GX is one of a number of GX4000 home brew releases that show it could have really shaken up the industry in the UK if it had just been managed a bit better. A real missed opportunity!
i'd imagine lots of people have projects that grow too big for them. then you're stuck with something that's taking all your time up. that's only going to have a detrimental effect on your health.

Oh hi Alex, good to hear from you and as mentioned in the podcast, good to see you and the old arcade doing well. Definitely need a catch up soon! 🙂
@@ReesRambles your more than welcome to pop over anytime mate.
Have a wonderful weekend you too and thanks for all the updates.
Cefucom is such an oddity, it reminds me of Techmoan videos of obscure audio formats. Will be very interested to watch the sequel!

Another lovely Ramble. Looking forward to seeing your Cefucom in action... hopefully in the City of Cefalu, in Sicily!
That would certainly be a nice change of scenery 😁
