I want to say that's thanks to the guy for giving such an honest heartfelt story about his addictions. He never said whether it was only alcohol or whether he had become addicted to coke or methamphetamine, but from the sounds of it, it got pretty serious and nearly fatal. Putting some numbers to it, if you spend more than a grand a month on drugs and alcohol, and you have a few days of throwing up all day, or you can't get out of bed until you get those stimulants in your body, then you know you've got a problem, and it's time to take a drug holiday. Lose your tolerance. I don't really believe that it's a disease, or that you are an alcoholic after being several years sober, but tolerance and addiction build rapidly, and it's important to take a few weeks off drugs to lose that tolerance.
