It’s definitely pretty dark and sad, but yes the creation of the millennium items was indeed through the mass death of people. It should be noted Atem wasn’t directly involved with their creation. He was very young, a baby even. His father was very diplomatic during his rule, trying to solve problems peacefully through negotiation and such. It was when push came to shove and Atem’s father saw that his family could be harmed that he granted Atem’s Uncle (Who is more a man of action and a little bit resentful of his brother for taking the throne) permission to create the millennium items. Honestly I don’t remember if Atem even knows about their origins, but Atem was 18 when he took his father’s place and at the most his rule lasted less than a year as he was still 18 and very inexperienced in ruling when he sealed himself and the big bad away to protect the world. Obviously doesn’t excuse the horrific events for their creation, but Atem’s comeback holds some weight. The items are now here and the past can’t be changed therefore someone with good intentions must wield them so that their power doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.
Maliphas actually made the right move with Necro Shield. since he had exactly no monsters on the field the pharaoh could have used the opportunity to take him out since he had no other cards on the field except Seal of the Dead and Necro Shield. If he hadnt had that, the Pharaoh could have used the opportunity to attack him directly with both dark magician and dark magician girl, eliminating him from the duel.

@@CountLurchalot there is one complaint i have about the series. Atem shouldnt know his name since he hasnt gotten his memories back. that was a big thing i saw as a big hole back in the first duel when the pharaoh asked "how does he know my name?"
@@CountLurchalot Yeah his father was kind of a corrupt ASSHOLE. So much innocent lives thrown into a smelter filled with molten gold, to bind the power of the Items, much as it's horrid, the items are there and not using them won't make those souls be UNsacrificed.

I had a feeling that card Rick gave Atem was Divine Fusion. Anyways, this has been an amazing series. I kinda wished we got to see a Slifer and Ra fusion too.

That’s actually a very good way of analysing it. There creation was horrific, but Atem uses them with nothing but pure intentions

17:20 In Pharaoh Atem’s Defence, he would’ve have opposed that order, even at the cost of Egypt; from my understanding of how TGS Anime explained it.
Are you referring to the explanation of how the items were created?

Indeed Fabersoul created what I can only describe as the greatest crossover I’ve ever seen
Also, I like how Fabersoul brought up the heart of the cards, it reminds me of my good ol childhood days

No worries I loved this series
Yes the slaughter is cannon in both the dub and Japanese version it jest the dub says sacrifice inside of slaughter
