One of few songs with Joe Satriani singing. Satriani, a guitar virtuoso who gave guitar lessons to Steve Vai, Alex Skolnick(Testament) and Kirk Hammett (Metallica)
I read somewhere, or saw an interview, where Joe Satriani was brought in to do backing vocals for an American remix/re-release of Crowded House's song "Don't Dream It's Over". Ultimately that version got scrapped and they went with the original sound mix.
Joe Satriani is an absolute beast on the guitar. I highly suggest more from him. Pretty much anything off Surfing with the Alien or Flying in a Blue Dream, or even The Enigmatic. Very unique player. And he’s still putting out music.
Asia, BJ… If you really want to see & HEAR Joe really cut loose, check out “Surfing with the Alien” (live version) or even “Satch Boogie” 🔥🎸🔥. On Surfing with the Alien, he does things with an electric guitar that I haven’t seen or heard others do or even attempt. The man is a BEAST on the electric guitar 👍😜🎸
My favorite guitarist. I hope you guys react to some of his instrumental work, like Flying in a Blue Dream, Surfing With the Alien and Memories. Not sure what else of his you have reacted to, but keep on the journey, he's awesome.
Joe Satriani doesn't usually sing... he's a guitarist/ composer. But this is definitely showing his love for ZZ Top (He named his son ZZ Satriani - no kidding! 😁) ... He also did vocals for a ballad on this 1989 album - "I believe"... and another in 1993 - 'Crazy'... 🤘🤘
He is in a band called “Chickenfoot” that consist of Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony from Van Halen and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. You should check out their song “Turnin left” for some off the chains guitar work.
Check out Flying In A Blue Dream, Back To Shalla-Bal, The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing and The Phone Call. The combination on Big Bad Moon of the guitar and the harmonica solo. Such a talented musician
Many of the songs you review i have been listning to 40 or more years. Like this one I think about 30. And yes it pumps you. I will see this guy in concert tn July.
