@vintagemxer9165 I think MX is changing a lot. And it is dying by the looks of those crowds at some races. They just care about tv packages. Sport is no farther ahead in status than in the 70's, and one could argue less popular. For sure less people at the event live than 30 to 50 years ago........
@@greg042look at the gate. This race had more riders on the gate than a lot of others and there were only around 20-22 250 guys. That's crazy. 450 was way more but they have half a gate at plenty of races too.
Prado a very worthy world champion. Well done indeed. My man Herlings lost the race against the FIM but showed what he has with a win in the second moto. Super performance by Prado, well done! And one thing became clear at the end of the season - Jeffrey Herlings still has the power and the speed to win rraces and championships!
SX here in the States pays the most by a good margin. Jett just collected 1 million for winning the 3 round SMX title and Deegan collected half a mill for the 250 class.

I want Prade, Timmy and Herlings all to come to the states for a FULL YEAR (SX, MX and SMX) That would make Elis last year so much friggin fun... Or even if they come the year after (i know Prado is coming over for SX this time for a full season, but its just a SX contract right??) Youd think these guys would want to get in on that SMX bread as the series enters its 3rd year and now has more stability and reputation.
FIM MX2 and MXGP have a real problem on their hands with their best rider and champion leaving next year for US SMX, so many races with half filled gates it's become a stagnant series that hasn't changed in decades. Even worse, their best upcoming talent in MX2 (Coennen brothers and De Wolf) are potentially leaving after next year to do the same thing. Vialle already proved it can work. There's just so much more money and fame to be made in the US SMX series especially for 250 riders. FIM and Infront really need to make changes or the MXGP series will quickly become a second tier series once Herlings and Gajser are gone with no top tier talent to take their place.
@@sauce1232 Compared to Jett Lawrence lap times maybe. There’s around 15 factory 450 riders when all are healthy and another 10 or so on 2nd tier teams who have top 10 speed but lesser equipment. The guys finishing P22-32 are full time racers on privateer teams making pretty good money. It’s only the bottom 8 or so that are part time MX racers. SX and SMX have 20 on the gate.
Seems like mxgp might have a personal issue with Hearlings looked to me like Gijser gained position by going off track around the first turn and entered back in the top 5 to get 2nd when I couldn't see where Hearlings gained anything but only 1 got positions taken away when it definitely woul have effected the the overall.

@@ds2575. FIM and AMA should joint venture 6 races every year. Three straight in Europe, close venues, and three in America, close venues also. It would help the sport immensely. Same points count. FIM needs help. Their entry fees are gross. I read they are around $1500 USD to line up on the gate. That kills all the independents.
