Took an extended break from doom metal and it's all I've been listening to lately. Uploaded 4 years ago so I'm late to the party. I checked out the new bongzilla. Didn't really like it.

Puede ser que la distorsión tan adictiva de la guitarra sea de un pedal proco rat, no tengo el oído muy entrenado pero da esa sensación por ese fuzz pastozo con Overdrive. Por cierto, excelente tapa un orgullo que esta banda sea de Argentina
para grabar esto en particular la distor era un big muff pi (el verde de bajo pero usado en la viola) junto con un blue box de mxr. Igual está toqueteado y ecualizado en la post producción... no se sabe si se le hizo algo más a la viola ahi
this was a split with Mephistofeles released by Sahara on Bandcamp. I think they delete it on BC to release it on other album, so this is like a "pre definitive release", kinda.
That's the whole point they are emulating the sound that inspired the genre while sabbath is a big name others from before and those that came immediately after sabbath. they all helped create doom, stoner doom, and its other more psychedelic musical brethren

All art/music is derivative anyway, but stoner/doom is a genre that is specifically all about evoking the same types of vibes that Sabbath and the other original bands from the 60s/70s introduced to the world. That's the whole point of this genre, to capture that same apathetic, raw, badass, bluesy, stoned kind of groove that came about at that time. People that bitch and moan and take the time to say "this band sounds like _______" just don't get it. Plus Mephistofeles is by far the best stoner/doom band putting out music today. Whatever IT is, these guys have GOT IT.
