That's quite an awesome deal considering the total cost for the value you received was basically $40 and whatever change for the card. gtx 1060 matches the Rx 580, and when considering value for money, I'd say you made the right choice given the current market.

Even in 2020, the RX 580 is still worth consideration particularly if you're on a tight budget. It's gonna be really tough to find more "bang for your buck" in terms of power and you probably won't find a cheaper card that can run VR as well as this.

I'll make it simple for you guys. Small case: blower cooler, choose the reference card because those are pretty good in the case of AMD (good PCB). Large case: open cooler, choose a cheap one if you don't care about the overclock and the noise, choose Sapphire Nitro+ if you want the least noisy card which overclocks the best (thanks to the cooling) and if it fits in the case. Sapphire Nitro+ comes as best out of the tests I have seen (temperature and noise) while not being (much) more expensive than the top models of the other brands..

Temperature and noise ... Thank you!! I wish more reviewers were as astute. I never care which card is going to squeeze out the most FPS over anything else. With the way adaptive sync technologies are coming along and how powerful these GPU's are getting, I'd much rather give up some FPS for less heat and way less noise.
RX 480/580 are the best cards for minning bitcoing. The thing is that a miner don't buy 1 or 2 gpu. They buy 7, 10, 15! So rx580 are all out of stock. With only nvidia in market, they are also getting out of stock...
In my opinion the RX 580 for triple A game is: Excellent for 1080p, Okay for 1440p, and 4k is out of the question. So yes, i agree that it's mainly for 1080p on the latest triple A games, but it is still a very capable 1440p card. 1080/1440p card in my opinion. Same goes for the 6gb version of the GTX 1060.

Was going to build my next machine but couldn't find a gpu- so I bought the cyberpower r5-1400-msi rx580-1tb hard drive-8gbram-wifi card-phanteks p400tempered glass case- evga450 psu- msi bazooka motherboard-rgb case lighting-windows 10-$650-seems like a great deal. Bought it at best buy, today is the last day of the sale, then back to 750$, bought 16gb more ram and 250gb m.2 ssd. I already have the r7-1700 and the asrock killer mb- gonna finish that build when I can get a 1070, but until then hope the cyberpower does the trick. Shipping says thursday the 6th-let you guys know then.

Actually I have an RX480 4Gb ARMOR in a an i3 6100 and GTA5 on max settings 1080p gaming is flawless. Also play City skylines and Rainbow six siege 60 to 80 frames. Surely a 580 will be amazing. Point is it's a fantastic card all around, less the mining boom price hikes.
Mining will blow over just like it has before. Market crashes and everyone sells their hardware just like after the first bitcoin crash. Sure it's back again now but it'll crash like it did before.
I got lucky, I ordered mine RX 580 on release day on Amazon. I bought the Gigabyte 8 gig version of the two fan card not xtr version displayed on the video.. I needed a new card years ago, I was still rocking the old school evga 8800 gtx from way back in 2006. My first card upgrade in a decade after upgrading my system 3 times in that time. Now I'm going to start my next build as my current system is almost 3 years old system. I mostly play esports games or sim games now. No more triple A games for me.
Well I just did, sapphire pulse rx 580 4gb at gtx 1060 3gb price here in canada (320$cad), no regrets and I learned about undervolting! It runs just as cool as the gtx 1050 ti I had before.
investing in a 3gb graphic card for 320$ , it's obvious 4k isn't good yet BUT you could have at least aim for 6gb and be future proof? Your purchase doesn't seem like a smart one.

I believe u should get 650w to be safe. My system is similar and I feel like with that I am set for overclocking my cpu and gpu even once I get a better one. You have to remember that down the line u might want to overclock other parts too like ram so bigger the better without going overkill

Almost no one mined cryptocurrences in Indonesia. So these cards are literally everywhere... you guys might be able to purchase these cards from some Indonesian online shops for a cheaper price.
Those cards are a great option if you want to build a hackintosh PC. Final Cut Pro X works better with OpenGL (AMD Cards), and with 8GB of VRAM, that hackintosh would be fantastic!
I'd argue that the cards specifically not featured: XFX, Sapphire and Power Color are the ones one should buy as they're AMD exclusive. Now I don't know about the other manufacturers - MSI and Gigabyte, but ASUS has in the past been a little cheap on their AMD side cooling, and a few people have had their ASUS Vega cards have substandard thermal pad application, causing greater heat.

I got my RX 580 in July 2017 and it was a super lucky Buy, I went to a Best Buy and they had 3 that just got there and that’s all they had so I bought the only 8gb one
Good video with good information. I was dissapointed though that you didn't include the sapphire nitro+ card as it and the strix are the 2 top tier cards on the market. What are you an Nvidia fanboi telling people that the 580 can't do 1440? I have the Nitro+580 and it handles 1440 at 60fps just fine. For referance the rx580 machine is in my older gaming rig, that is about 10 years old now. It's a QX9770 quad core extreme @4.5ghz and 16gb ddr3 ram. I mostly game on my i9 rig with the 5700XT but when that rig is busy rendering I game on the old rig and I have yet to come across a game i can't play at 1080p 60 fps. Including COD modern warfare. This card is a decent and very capable card even when paired with older hardware. And before anyone asks, No I don't suffer from any bottlenecks although I'm sure that is because the hardware in that older rig especially the cpu can still hold it own against low to mid tier cpu's of today.

In Canada, 500 dollars is what you pay for a GTX 1060. The cheapest 1080 here at the moment is 800 dollars.

Well I just did, sapphire pulse rx 580 4gb at gtx 1060 3gb price here in canada (320$cad), no regrets and I learned about undervolting! It runs just as cool as the gtx 1050 ti I had before.
The year is 2018 and they are 150
investing in a 3gb graphic card for 320$ , it's obvious 4k isn't good yet BUT you could have at least aim for 6gb and be future proof?

It's a good build, only one thing I would change is get a better power supply about 650w. If u want to upgrade later to a better gpu, u might need one

Use the link to find out, u can edit the clock speed and play with the voltage and it should let u know how much watts u need. I believe u should get 650w to be safe. My system is similar and I feel like with that I am set for overclocking my cpu and gpu even once I get a better one. You have to remember that down the line u might want to overclock other parts too like ram so bigger the better without going overkill

Those cards are a great option if you want to build a hackintosh PC. Final Cut Pro X works better with OpenGL (AMD Cards), and with 8GB of VRAM, that hackintosh would be fantastic!

I'd argue that the cards specifically not featured: XFX, Sapphire and Power Color are the ones one should buy as they're AMD exclusive. Now I don't know about the other manufacturers - MSI and Gigabyte, but ASUS has in the past been a little cheap on their AMD side cooling, and a few people have had their ASUS Vega cards have substandard thermal pad application, causing greater heat.

Good video with good information. I was dissapointed though that you didn't include the sapphire nitro+ card as it and the strix are the 2 top tier cards on the market. What are you an Nvidia fanboi telling people that the 580 can't do 1440? I have the Nitro+580 and it handles 1440 at 60fps just fine. For referance the rx580 machine is in my older gaming rig, that is about 10 years old now. It's a QX9770 quad core extreme @4.5ghz and 16gb ddr3 ram. I mostly game on my i9 rig with the 5700XT but when that rig is busy rendering I game on the old rig and I have yet to come across a game i can't play at 1080p 60 fps. Including COD modern warfare. This card is a decent and very capable card even when paired with older hardware. And before anyone asks, No I don't suffer from any bottlenecks although I'm sure that is because the hardware in that older rig especially the cpu can still hold it own against low to mid tier cpu's of today.
