The Tehri lake dam has created a water reservoir in the Tehri town and these huts are floating over the water. The water is beautiful sea green color and is surrounded by the mountains. The views at these tehri floating huts are unmissable and one of the best in Uttarakhand.
We travelled to Mussoorie for and then planned 1 day in Tehri Floating Huts and were surprised to how not many people still not know about this place in Uttarakhand.
It can be a prefect weekend getaway and one of the best offbeat location of Uttarakhand unlike the commercial Nainital, Mussoorie, Dehradun etc.

How washroom is allowed above ganga river
There are biotoilets in each of these huts and the water was not directly thrown into the lake. Moreover this is a man made lake and not exactly ganga river. For more information, please check the government website tehri.nic.in/tehri-lake/
Can we go to floating hut without taking rooms in hotel/resort?
I guess not as they take you to the floating huts from their own motor boats once you check in at the reception.
But you can always try asking the staff there!

Iske charges almost 8000 se 13000 ke beech pdenge.. depending on the season and kitne meals included hain..
Agr advanve mein booking krle floating huts ki to hmme kuj benefits mil skte hai ya at the time hi booking orni chaiye stay krne ke liye
Advance me booking krne se apko price better mil skte hain and availability bhi pta lag jaati hai..

We went there by a rented car. Its upto you and your taxi provider for the car and driver to leave or to stay!

Which is the best weather for stay there
The best time to visit would be between april to june..if you want to enjoy clear mountain views and light summer..
Or from october to december for winters.
The views you see in the video are from June 😊
