What I like about Volvo next to other aspects is perception from others drivers. I would not buy BMW just because of reputation some idiots giving this brand by style of driving and behaving on the road. Volvo is peace, safety, respect coming out and in, unforced style and elegance. This S60 made huge step from previous model, its like new car. As far as exterior design its the winner over German rivals!
I've been driving Volvos since my first model 240 in 1978. Since then, I've owned the 740, S70, and now, three S60's. It's April 2023 and I just traded a 2012 S60 for a 2020 S60 that has only 3,108 miles. I'm a loyal Volvo driver with close to 2 million miles in Volvos with surprisingly few mechanical problems. Thanks for doing this video. It would have been nice to see a few features mentioned -- like keyless entry; opening the trunk with a swipe of the foot and how the navigation system works.
The other day I rented a car from Sixt and I was a bit down when I saw it was a volvo ( I had requested a Mercedes-Benz), but.. I actually was surprised how nice this car is. So nice, that I'm watching this video as part of the classic pre-purchase (well, lease :) ) research!
@@benjaminsmith2287 They aren't what the segment wants. The segment wants sporty and flashy, the Volvo is neither and as such will not gain any ground over the Germans. Stumbled onto this review...What a refreshing automobile journalist you are, sir! I own this vehicle and I found your review not only relatable, but intelligent and honest. Thank you! Edit: I've owned the Audi A4, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes C Class, and BMW you kept comparing this Volvo to. I agree with your assessment regarding the Volvo S60 in comparison to those vehicles. The only thing I might add is that the Alfa Romeo brings something to the table that the others, including the Volvo, do not: a certain connection with the driver that I can't put into words.
I recently upgraded from a 2013 s60 t5 to a 2019 Inscription s60 t6 AWD. Which has massage seating, refrigerator on the glove compartment. It also does have a remote start, remote heating system, 3 different types of variables cruise control. I feel like there is so much stuff on this car that this gentleman did not mention. Volvo did an amazing job with this luxury vehicle.
13:18 I'm glad you showed this angle. Someone I was testing this car with showed me those sharp edges hanging down in the deeper interior of the trunk space. I would have never seen it. If I were to throw a bike into the back, for example, I would need to be careful that I don't scratch my bike up with those screws and strange metal protrusions. I feel like this is an oversight of some kind.
Have to comment. Unlike so many reviews where they barely show the full exterior of the car, this review shows a great high definition actual 360 view of car that is not distorted. Also where so many short reviews ding the 9 inch all touch display, this reviewer mentions how at first yes it can be intimidating that you quickly get use to it and it turns out easy. This was a detailed review not focusing on stats but what the real positives are in the car that would make you want to own it. Well done I am in the market for one of the Volvos be it XC60, S60, V60 and Cross Country which is saying something that there are 4 options from Volvo ( only one option I would consider at the others)
There is one thing I don't like, its missing buttons on the navigation control. Chasing all by bare finger, I wish Volvo did it like Mazda 6 (without poor camera). Or two options so people can configurate what they prefer.
My bigger issue with the 9" screen isn't that so many functions are housed in the screen, it's that if you use CarPlay or AA, the relative screen size of that area is pretty small compared to a vehicle with a dedicated 8-12" widescreen display. You wind up with a 6-7" Android Auto screen. And it's down low.
Dude, great review but you gotta say HAAA-mon KAA-don. I know you’re trying to sound more intelligible for the rest of the country but you must embrace your Boston roots , brother. The accent can never die! Lol

Volvo did right with the S60. What I love about the Volvo brand is that they march to the beat of their own drummer, the S60 is not a common luxury sedan. Mike, does the S60 have remote start available?
@@SALLY_SANDY In the US the panoramic sunroof comes standard for the 2021 model year. Not sure if Volvo offers the same standard features and optional packages in other markets.
everything so beautiful but that dashboard computer is just so disgusting it turns me away from volvo..... if only they could make it more integrated into a dashboard. that would probably be the car no other could compete with in my opinion...
It is more integrated than BMW and Audi. It flows with the rest of the dashboard. From all the interiors I've seen in Audi's and BMW's the center displays look awkward and out of place.
DO NOT BUY A VOLVO! I am the current owner of a 2019 S60 T6 Inscription and the vehicle has been a complete nightmare. It is plagued with quality issues and has been in the shop more than all my previous cars were combined, I am in my late 30’s. Worse of all, dealing with the Volvo dealership network and Volvo USA has been even a worse experience. Endless circle of taking the vehicle to the shop to have quality issues and defects documented then calling Volvo USA for resolution but receiving no courtesy or care. I bought a $60k piece of crap that I do not even trust to drive more than 30 miles from my house. Asked them to buy it back or forgive my loan, would not. Asked them to give me a replacement vehicle, would not. Even though I have a service record the thickness of a dictionary on a car with 33k miles on it. They do not care about their customers unless they are selling you the car, after that you are on your own!

Yes, standard. With Volvo On Call App, you can start vehicle, lock, get vehicle info
I rarely see S60's even when traveling. People that ride with me comment on how many heads it turns. I love that it isn't as common as BMW and Audi.
Thank you , one question please which is more comfort for a small family xc60 or s60 ?!
Without question the XC60. It's more practical, offers better interior room, and I found the riding comfort to be a little better than the S60.
