You can see Brands influence on Gilman in this match. A lot of forward pressure. Same game plan as Gilman.

The Chis Handsome Show I was aware of his switch. Maybe he’s trying to avoid being in the room with Spencer Lee? Gilman placed 2nd at the World Championship one year. Weird that a world medalist feels like they need to look to others for answers. That goes to Snyder as well. A world medal would make you a phenomenal coaching prospect for a Division 1 team. If you cannot solve your own problems can you solve the problems of the 25 athletes you hope to coach? People will flame me and talk about “different eyes on you and being open minded.” Yeah yeah yeah. Truth is there is only one person that has been present for every match you’ve ever wrestled. And that is you. If you are a world medalist and cannot fix your mistakes you are telling every athletic director to never hire you.

The ref didnt decide.... he followed the rules which is what a refs job is. The other guy didnt follow the rules and is why he lost. Both wrestlers knew going into the match how things are called and its up to them to make attempts to score points... not stall out when you are ahead. Thats EXACTLY why that rule was put in place and yet you say "let them wrestle"? Both knew what they could and couldnt do. So, yeah let them wrestle...unless one guy refuses to do that and just flees to get out of harms way, then DQ him. This match was called fairly and why no major challenges were made.

If anyone knew Terry or watched him wrestle then they knew that is exactly how he wrestled. Everytime he wrestled he would run off the mat afterwards. So for someone to say that he knew which is why he ran off the mat is a complete fallacy. For others to say that the ref decided the match, they are just as ignorant. Back in those days stall calls were actually called. They were actually enforced. Those rules were actually used. But in today's wrestling standard it is not. Instead we give points away instead of working for them. We let people win a 1-0 match instead of getting 3 point minimum. I know wrestling was losing popularity but the moment we started giving points away was the moment we started losing the integrity of the sport.

At 6:36 they call a step out and he’s not even close. Don’t get me wrong who knows how this would have finished, Brands was coming on strong and definitely had the momentum but to stop it like that doesn’t feel right.
