I appreciate the game and you keeping it real. I'm also out of DFW.
How much do you think I need to save in order to become an owner operator?
I have 10k right now and my plan is to save $1900 for the next 12 months so I'll come out to roughly $32,800.
I've been a company driver for 5 years and 5 months now. I make 96k/yr but I much rather have freedom and control over my life.
    Thanks in advance.

What’s your intention once you have your truck? Lease on with a company? Lease under an O/O, own authority etc

@@LeanTrucker If you recommend doing one before the other in order to learn the ropes, then I'm down to do it.
But, my ultimate goal is to do my own thing and not be tied to anyone.

@@wedontsimp Ultimately you have to do what’s best for you. Just from my experience I would take the lease on with a company route myself. My reason for that is you get to focus and learn how to manage everything that comes with owning your own truck like how much parts, routine maintenance, tires, managing your money, etc cost without having the added responsibilities having your own authority adds. Trying to learn all of it at the same time can be extremely challenging but it can be done just not what I would do. Once comfortable with that then on to the next one.
