- This is a video of the entire journey on the KLIA Ekspres from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to KL Sentral. The KLIA Ekspres is the faster of two train services connecting the airport with downtown Kuala Lumpur, the other being the KLIA Transit which stops at 3 more stations (Salak Tanggi, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Bandar Tasik Selatan, which is linked to the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan bus station) along the way. It takes 28 minutes to go from Terminal 1 of the airport to KL Sentral. The entire journey is above ground with a lot of lovely scenery for you to enjoy. This is where my action camera comes in handy!
Once I reached KL Sentral, I could change to a wide variety of train lines including the KTM Komuter Seramban Line, Port Klang Line, RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line, KTM ETS Intercity Trains, the KL Monorail and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line at the nearby Muzium Negara station.
A single adult ticket costs RM55. You can buy tickets online at a 10% discount or more. I bought my ticket at Klook for the equivalent of RM48, which is a 13% discount. I received an email with a QR code attached which I scanned at the ticket gates to enter and exit the station. The KLIA Ekspres has the best value for money for solo travellers. It would be cheaper for parties of 2 or more to take an airport taxi to your hotel.
Made the same video! It's the best way to reach the airport. Thanks for the interesting video.
Great video
can i use the online ticket to transit from klia2? or only available at klia?
I think you can use the online ticket at KLIA2 as well.
Yes you can
Look at 5:32, 11:53 and 22:09, the train will skip 3 KLIA Transit stations.
This is because this is the Express train.
You just get into the train like that ? How and where do you buy the ticket ? Not everybody knows that important stuff.
OK, I bought my ticket using a website called Klook, and received an email with the eticket attachment. All I had to was to open the attachment, zoom in to the QR code and scan it at the entry gate.
11:00 Cyberjaya
How much is the train ticket?
A adult single ticket costs RM55 when bought at the counter, though you can get a 10% discount (i.e. RM49.50) by buying an e-ticket online.
2:00 The announcement is wrong.
What should it be instead?
It should be "next station".
If you want to bukit bintang, better use mrt.
I wish I had known! I tried out the Monorail, only to find that it is not air conditioned and the stations do not have lifts, so it was a real struggle with my heavy suitcase.
