Sorry for the lame question but which wire on the ISO did you connect the constant +ve from the fuse box to? I am currently helping a friend install an aftermarket head unit and need this info as I want to leave the cars harness stock when the car needs to be sold. Thanks in advance
My sons new (to him) Punto has a kenwood stereo in, obviously been swopped out at some point. The problem is it’s been wired into the cigarette lighter so there is no power in that for his black box. Any hints on how to solve this problem?
hi, no idea on the guage wise all I know its 0.5mm per core ( so 2x 0.5mm) as I used double barrel stuff (red and black and then a layer over that) each strand could carry 11amps its all over ebay itll never carry 11/22amps as its fused at 2amps ziggy
Could doing this damage the ecu.? Shortly after doing this the car started shutting down and some testing was done on the ecu and it was proven to be faulty. I'm not sure if that is merely a coincidence or not
TheAlmightyOctopus as long as you haven't connected to the canbus no damage can be done as far as i know ive been running this setup with no issues at all!
Ziggy122 So the canbus wires are located from the stereo to the connector and not the connector to the vehicle. as long as the canbus wires are gone there, I should be good?
replacing fiat unit with a sony one, do i need a wiring harness between the one that came with the cd player to the one that is fitted by fiat , ie there would be 3 wiring connections
So complicated, can't you make an easier video? I really have no idea what your talking about. But most importantly how the hell do you remove that plug from the back of the punto stereo? It refuses to come out, I tried pulling pinching everything
Thank you for uploading this video. I've been looking everywhere for a solution and reading it up is just so confusing. I'm an electrical engineer and I was still confused and cautious to wire it up in case I short circuit anything or send power down the wrong lines. I saw that there was a missing connector on the lead so I was close to powering the unit by jumping the battery cable to the ignition cable too. But luckily I saw this video so thank you for that. Do the data canbus stay disconnected after you make the ignition connection can I ask? Once again, thank you and I'll give it a try once I have the time
Azmol Muhammad Ali yes the canbus lines stay in the connector in the car However the wiring harness that the stereo came with - has NOTHING in those pins where the canbus lines are Resulting in the canbus system been disconnected from the stereo The Ignition power wire is bypassing the connectors :)
Ziggy122 just connected up the head unit using the piggyback fuses. Works perfectly! It was hard getting the wire to the back of the stereo so instead I just opened up the speed gauge and fed the wire through there down to the fuse box. Thanks for video!
My fiat stilo had the same problem but luckly i found your video
I didint get why there was only an constant power

Hi. I have a fiat punto. But i don`t know how exactly to make wiring. You can help me to make it?
Same solution for the fiat stilo aftermarket install....thanks for the video
hello, can you help me?
Hi, what's did you do to the "can a" and "can b" wires? I can't make my stereo to work
Nice one, thanks 😊 thought I had to buy some connectors, just joined two wires.
Very helpful my Grande Punto does the same
I did everything still not powering on but cig lighter still works

Fuck the black box off😂😂😂
What size fuse did you use in the piggy bank?
iirc its a 2amp fuse, as its also running a drl setuo too
totalling about 1amp draw maxed
The 2007 Fiat Bravo's are the same mate, on my way to a an electrical suppliers to get a the bits and bobs
what guage wire did you use for this, or will any size do?

Ziggy122 right, okay thanks for the reply. Now I need to do some digging into where CANBUS is and if I connected to it. Any hints?
TheAlmightyOctopus as long as ur stereo isnt connected at the connector for the stereo ull be fine

Ziggy122 ok, I've checked and the pins to the canbus are absent. thank you very much for your help. i really appreciate it
ESISTE UNA VERSIONE IN LINGUA ITALIANA DI QUESTA INSTALLAZIONE ?? GRAZIE

It's a fairly simple video to follow.. basically all he said was to swap a wire around in the back of the plug and add your own switched feed
you need to change the name of the video and put what Mark it is

Ok, so in all, the canbus lines are disconnected and do not transmit anything through them? Thank you for your help

Punto mark 2A doesn't need any of this.
