IT WORKS THANKS DUDE!
My Case:
- Startup folder & Group containers folder doesn't appear when I search on Library folder, idk
- Then, I search by typing "Startup", it appears, and just paste it in Word folder

When research itself is daunting, Elsevier made our lives difficult by replacing the older (lighter and better working) Mendeley Desktop + Citomatic with newer Reference Manager + Cite. Had trouble installing M-Desktop on Mac M1 Monterey but somehow got through in multiple attempts. Was forced to install M-Cite (that took us to Stone Age) as Citomatic plugin won't install. I found this video in my last attempt before giving up on Mendeley altogether.

While Elsevier and Microsoft make our lives worse, people like you evince altruism and ability.
I spent all day long trying to get Mendeley to work in Word on my new Mac M2.
With just a little difference in the demonstrated paths, I was able to achieve the goal.

I had the sae issue. To fix this, you need to remove Mendeley Reference Manager and install Mendeley Desktop from the link provided in the Video Description.
Then follow the instructions, and it should work.

do you know how to do it with mendeley reference manager? because the folder "macwordplugin" doesn't exist with this version. And when I try to log in with my student email in mendeley desktop it says: "it looks like you are trying to sign in using your institutions Shibboleth account. This is currently not supported on Mendelt Desktop but does work on browser-based version of Mendeley. Please sign into Mendeley using a web browser."

ive been trying your method for awhile and it's not working.... turn out I downloaded a different type of mendeley (from there orfinal website) I'm not sure what's wrong, but I uninstalled it and use your provided link to download it. instant work!
