@@dahiana1511 If you ask me one of the main reasons Ben is attracted to Aneesa (sorry if I got her name wrong) is because he sees her as part Devi. Even in the end you can see the pure love for her in his eyes... Also I have a feeling like IRL Maitreyi and Jaren have a lot more chemistry then her and Darren, which shows why their short relationship looks better on screen. ALSO BEN CLEARLY LOVES HER FROM WAY EARLIER
Am I the only one who cares about kamala storyline over this high school kids? I mean kamala fought a lot of battles.
Yeah, her subplots were super cool, especially when she stood up to those sexist lab colleagues. And I'm interested in where her romantic life is going because obviously it isn't going to be with the guy she was with in the beginning of the season (the one from India).

Paxton earned her in season 2 because he gave her a second chance even tho she was greedy (im not sure if this is the right word) by wanting both of them. Ben's a really sensitive character and he got hurt when he learned that Devi was cheating on him also when she left him behind to explain Paxton what had happened. Which showed that at the start of s2 she cared a lil more about Paxton than Ben (even tho he let her stay at her house and stuff). Even tho Ben getting hurt by Devi is understandable he wanted time to get over that. He was also not sure if he wanted to give Devi another chance as he was scared of getting cheated on again. And by the time he was ready to give her a second chance, Paxton's character had grown alot and he understood that Devi ain't that bad of a person after all and so decided to give her a second chance before Ben could. So that's why it does make sense for Devi to end up with Paxton than Ben.
I love how Paxton is always the one to help her from her more embarrassing moments too. You can tell he cares a lot about her, and you can see he didn’t really want to hurt her after she broke his heart. Whereas Ben just became a total a$$ to her, and I understand that, it’s just the question of, “If he treated her like this when he was mad, will he treat her like this again when he’s mad?”. I think Paxton didn’t take his anger out on Devi as much as Ben did and I appreciate that. Also, Ben is dating Aneesa and that girl doesn’t need anymore heartbreak. She already has so much.
I don't know any better than Devi who to choose- Paxton or Ben. Didn't think the second season would deepen the triangle. Even I'm like, " Just date them both!"

But in this season even tho Ben had feelings for her, he was mad at her for having two boyfriends and leaving him at the party while going behind Paxton so he didn't wanna tell her about his feelings prolly cuz he didn't wanna be cheated on again. And because he didn't confess his feelings, Devi's relationship with Paxton grew and Paxton's character grew as well which made her choose him and I really hope in season 3 she doesn't leave Paxton after knowing that Ben still has feelings for her. I know this is a long one but just my opinion. Please don't judge://

But when Devi visited Paxton and told him that if the relationship was gonna be a secret one they'd rather mot be together, that's when Paxton realises without anyone telling him that he cabt afford to lose her because he really loves her. I never understood why Devi was threatened by Aneesa at first, I mean being the nerd was Devi's thing and Aneesa never challenged her in that. Aneesa would never be a smartie like her😂
She was threatened because this other indian girl comes to school and not even a full day being there she has so many friends while Devi is also Indian but only has a couple friends

devi wasn’t necessarily threatened by aneesa’s intelligence, i actually think the reason she felt inferior to aneesa was because of the contrary. aneesa gained popularity because she was most of the things that devi supposedly wasn’t, so it created a sense of jealousy in her.

I honestly think it was because she didn't want one of her boyfriends stolen from her, she wants both and is very indecisive which isn't fair on both of them but Devi can't see that.

I was totally Team Ben in season one but after seeing Paxton's character development in season 2, it's become so much harder to choose a Team. One thing is for certain though, season three is going to be vvv interesting and we'll get to see a jealous Ben. I don't want to see anyone cheating on anyone though.
But his character development was him being better at school. He isnt really doing better with Devi, he just finally agreed to be seen in public with her, before that he just wanted to use her for good grades and make out sessions while keeping her in the dark. He improved like 10%
@@Fan_Girl-xd8wy he was doing better at school because of the encouragement of Devi. Through her encouragement he became more deeply attracted and attached to her which I think is real progress. Paxton wanting to be seen with her was a real development to his character.

Paxton's character grew a lot and I really like him now, but the one who fits Devi the best is Ben.

Unpopular opinion: Devi kinda treated both Paxton and Ben like shit. None of them deserved to be cheated on imo.
THANK YOU!! Devi gets a free pass wayyyy too easily bc she's the protagonist. She had the least growth imo. After treating her friends poorly in S1, she starts a serious rumor about Aneesa being anorexic and only apologizes so she can be in good graces with Ben...even though she cheated on both him and Paxton so she has no right to get "jealous."

I think she wants a relationship to distract her from her trauma, which I get, but it's also why she continuously projects and hurts those who around her. At a certain point, it's inexcusable without changed behavior. Really hoping S3 focuses on her personal growth.

I honestly started to dislike her quite a bit in season 3 for the way she keeps ignoring her need for therapy and personal growth by manipulating other people to get what she wants. I actually enjoyed Nalini and Kamala’s arcs a lot more because they were growing and maturing in their own ways. I felt like Devi did little but backslide. Yes she apologized to Aneesa, but I have a sinking feeling she would still take Ben back if Ben would have her, even at the cost of hurting Aneesa again. She still seems very selfish and while she’ll apologize (mainly out of fear of being a social pariah) she’s determined not to face the root of her issues (and the pain that comes with it) to experience any real growth.

First : She didn’t start the rumour… she got so angry about seeing Aneesa and Ben together that she blurted it out in front of those girls..and they spread the rumour… Aneesa should have just told her friends about the reason she moved and they would have helped her and would have been more sensitive towards her..
Plus she owned up for the mistake she made regarding the rumour… she could have just kept quite…

Ben likes Devi WAY MORE than Paxton ever has. Paxton is soooo half baked with her, with or without the cheating.
Ben asked her to be his girlfriend from the start. He was so much more hurt about Devi cheating on him, cause he liked her so much, and then was left thinking he was the second choice (which makes sense from all of Devi's actions! even unintentionally, like the tutoring paxton thing). Meanwhile... Paxton was mainly just upset about being humiliated, and his broken arm/swimming. Not cause of his feelings for Devi.

For Paxton, Devi was initially just another girl he dated which is why he could forgive her so easily. But Ben really truly liked her and wanted something real with her. He was the one who went all in for her which is why he was so hurt and couldn't easily forgive her. By the time he was ready to forgive her it was too late. I'm really glad they gave Paxton so much character development, but I also feel bad for Ben.
Unpopular opinion:
Maybe for this season she should have just focused on improving herself before "dating."
Paxton: Good character arch but kind of only liked her again because she helped him improve his chances of college admission. Plus, what kind of first date was that? Devi makes him a better man, but how does Devi benefit in this relationship? IF he really cherished her, he wouldn't have been so bothered by what his friends thought or at the end when they walked in been hunched over. Be confident if she is your girl now!
Ben: Better fit in my opinion for her because they both help and challenge each other to be better people.
Devi still does care for Ben even though she does end up with Paxton at the end. She kept thinking of making things right with him and if she really didn't care she would not have been jealous throughout the show. She only gives up because she doesn't want to hurt Aneesa again. Also, she wanted to choose Ben but her friends talked her out of it and she was so jealous of Ben and Aneesa.
Maybe she needs a new love interest altogether in S3 because both Ben and Paxton are kind of toxic in their own ways.
Ben and Paxton are toxic in their own ways, but Devi is hella toxic too to the point where sometimes I feel like she doesn't even deserve them. Usually both Ben and Paxton's toxic behaviors come out as a response to smt messed that Devi has done. I agree with everything else tho!

I’m Devi and Paxton all the way! He still likes her after all she did to him, cheated on him and ruined his career. I believe Paxton truly loves her despite all her flaws. I really dislike the way Ben treats Devi when he’s mad at her, that’s a huge red flag. But Paxton moves on and forgives her (that’s what you want in a guy!) It was nice to see an insight into Paxton’s character and see him grow as a person with Devi’s help. Hopefully in season 3 we see their relationship strengthen and Devi getting Nalini to approve her relationship with Paxton. It would also be interesting to see a relationship with Eleanor and Trent and Kamala and the teacher. Bring on Season 3!

What was also a red flag with Ben was the way he treated Aneesa after they lost the Gatsby debate. He was horrible to her because she made a mistake and looked down on her. His arrogance shone through. Instead of comforting her he was cold and made her feel bad about herself. He is quite narcissistic.
@@hannah5064 Maybe I was not paying attention but at what point was he horrible to Aneesa? You can clearly tell it was internal, he was holding it in the whole time. He didn’t talk down on her and blame her for the loss. He was frustrated because he was competitive, yes, but at no point did I see him getting all raged up in her face. I feel like your spinning a completely new narrative here…
I think you’re overlooking the fact that he still values his reputation overall. Looking at the end of the episode, in my own opinion it felt like he was forcing himself. I mean, I’m glad he at least tried. But I’m still not sure about him nor Ben overall. Let’s just see what season 3 brings to the table. TwT
Ben didnt really have a storyline in season 2 like he had in season one. And if we think about which couple I ship at the beginning of the season I was like Devi please please choose Ben he's the real deal. But as Paxton's character developed I started shipping them too. And although Devi did a real nono by having two boyfriends I still think that Ben's actions towards Devi were a bit too much.

I’m conflicted. Ben has been there emotionally for her he’s a rock, this season he was a jerk I get it what she did was wrong but Paxton never did that he showed he’s immature and bitter! Paxton is opposite and sometimes that’s good opposites attract and she believes in him and helps push him to be better. Paxton didn’t bring it up that much he just put up a wall and was up front with out being bitter, probably because he finds emotions hard to express and vulnerable.I found myself rooting for both this season! Further more I feel like her character was leaning towards Ben because they have those similarities and that banter is fire where as Paxton feels more like lustful infatuation. I loved Kamala’s character development! I can’t wait for season 3!

I felt like Ben was a jerk mostly because he knew he was Devi's second choice/default guy. Devi wanted to be with Paxton and only chose Ben because she couldn't have Paxton. I felt like Ben was never really her first choice; it was obvious when she ran after Paxton when they both found out that she was cheating on them. The hurt on Ben's face is him realizing that she cared for Paxton more. Devi would only run back to Ben when Paxton didn't want her or because of some confusion/miscommunication ( like when she realized that Paxton asked her out on a date even though his friends were there. She went on this date and only decided to be Ben's girlfriend after she thought Paxton just wanted to be friends) .
Ben had the right to be a jerk. She apologized to Paxton first and helped him first. She tried to get back with him first and only wanted to be with Ben again after Paxton said that they didn't make sense. Devi needs to stay single and work on herself to find out what she wants and who she has feelings for. Switching back and forth means she doesn't know what she wants but Paxton is her first choice.

Ben was hurt not because his love for Devi was stronger than Paxton, Ben was hurt because he was sore about being her 2nd choice. That's all he could care about from the beginning to the end, which was why he could easily fall for Aneesa. As for Devi, she got jealous when her best friends started asking Aneesa for advice instead of her, that Aneesa is more popular than her, that Ben would rather flirt with Aneesa than to talk to her. Her anger made her determined to break Ben & Aneesa up. Were Ben & Devi compatible? Sorry no. Paxton on the other hand is much simpler, he raged because the girl he likes cheated on him, he felt embarrassed to go public with her because it makes him look stupid to still love someone who betrayed him. But as embarrassed as he is, subconsciously he always cared and stood by Devi, his focus is always about her, which is really sweet. To be fair, Paxton has every right to feel embarrassed, and Ben has every right to be sore about not being the first, but what matters the most was - ultimately, who's feelings for Devi was strong enough to trumped over their ego. Clearly, Paxton did. =)

Its not like this is the first time he made a commitment, so whats the big deal? Be it all in or not, i believe they were both hurt but for different reasons. Ben was hurt mainly because Devi left him behind and he assumed she made him the 2nd choice. Thats the only thing he cared about and he made this point loud and clear from the beginning to the very end. It was just sad that his feelings for Devi was not strong enough for him to overcome it to patch things up with Devi, instead he chose to shut her out of his life and chose Aneesa over Devi. Paxton on the other hand has commitment issues, he has never commit to anyone regardless a nerd or a babe. Be it how upset he was for whatever reason, he got over it within the first half of an episode and they remained friends, the whole forced tutoring thingy lasted less than 15 mins of the ep. And as embarrassed as he was, he remains faithful to Devi and eventually overcome his emotions. =)
I just finish the S2. I'm happy for Devi and Paxton. But I can't bear to see Ben's face at the end. I expected Devi to choose him from the start but she ended up with Paxton🤧

as of right now, i still think ben & devi are endgame. he and devi still had moments while he was with aneesa, and after their debate project it looked like he was starting to have doubts about being with aneesa. when devi was speaking with her therapist she basically said ben is who is truly desired the entire time which is why she felt she had to find a way to get aneesa to stay. i like paxton and his growth was touching. if she ends up with him, i won’t complain. i just feel like devi and ben make more sense.

I'm sorry but this video didn't do Ben any justice! They didn't show how hurt Ben felt or how much Devi wasn't over him for most of the season. They didn't show how he broke up with Shira and asked Devi to be his girlfriend in the very beginning, the time when Aneesa couldn't make it to work on the debate and he apologized if pda with Aneesa made her uncomfy and she apologized for two-timing him. They even skipped over the part when he almost asked Devi to dance. Paxton's "character development" was just him becoming more of a decent human (actually doing schoolwork on his own, appreciating his grandfather, not being embarrassed of Devi, not being friends with Trent---oh wait that DIDN'T happen).
Exactly!! Literally everyone keeps talking about his "development" but all he did was actually start taking his life seriously and the only reason he forgave devi so easily was because she was helping him with that. As far as their relationship there was not much growth until the very last episode and even them je seemed unsure, so no TEAM BEN all day!

I like his character a lot, I think it depends a lot on what we bring to the table. To me, Paxton was always there for her. She was attacked, he took her to the hospital; she fell in the pool, he took her home; she cheated on him and he still managed to forgive her and show his relationship in front of everyone. When you have a lot of peer pressure it is easy to just succumb to it, but he changed, mostly for her. I don't think he is a douche at all.

I agree, if anything I think Ben icing her in the beginning of the season just shows how heart broken he was and how much he really loved her. Whereas Paxton did the same thing he did in season 1, he was mad at her until he needed her. And even after starting to like her he literally told her he couldn’t date her publicly. Just look at how she interacts with both. She is never sure with Paxton, he doesnt want the same things as her, cares more about his reputation than being with her, used her for good grades and treated her like a slave, got mad at her for not helping him study later as if she wasnt also trying to raise her own grades for PE, and then helping her friend with a serious issue. He got some character growth but it wasnt nearly enough, he just did the bare minimum by showing up at the dance after he embarrased her in front of his friends. Letting people see you in public with someone is not a heroic thing to do, he didnt even like people seeing them as a couple when they were boyfiend and girlfriend. While Ben was all in from the start, then got hurt and didnt want to talk to her, but was still for her when she needed him, he didnt have much screet time this season but you can see how much both care about each other, she clearly wanted to kiss him at the dance before Anessa showed up, because all she did this season was to get Ben back, but she kept going back to Paxton because she doesnt feel good enough, that why she allowed him to keep her in the dark, and it wasnt untill Ben told her that she deserved better than Paxton tha she finally stood up for herself. So for me its Team Ben all the way. I liked Paxton more than i did first season but he still isnt nearly as good as Ben yet

Also, it wasn't fair to Ben that Devi ran after Paxton once the truth was revealed. That must have hurt so bad ☹️ even after that he genuinely cared for her. He looked after her when she got cramped at the relay. Whereas Paxton just got stoned with his friends and only sought her company to get good grades.
And Ben was willing to do the whole long distance relationship with Devi even when she was set to move to India!! Ben was ready to go all out and be fully committed. Whereas, don't think Paxton ever called Devi his "girlfriend" until the final episode of Season 2.
I'm also kinda confused, but I am still towards Ben. He even made Devi realise that she deserved better than how Paxton was treating her, even _after_ all that she did for him.
I think Devi and Ben truly care about each other, they just didn't get the timing right in this season.

Daxton supporters are going to be disappointed. Every details of the season point out to a Ben and Devi endgame. Devi clearly loves him. She spent almost all the season trying to get back on Ben good side. She stopped trying because she thought she was mature to stop fighting for Ben when he got with Aneesa. And Ben did it because he thought he was Devi's second choice at best and we know it's not. This season was for Daxton shippers. But if you look at the whole picture, everything is in place for the Ben and Devi endgame.

I was thinking this, but Season 2’s ending was too big and climatic for Paxton and Devi not to be the endgame. I know Ben was staring at her at the end of the episode, but if season 3 is about the love triangle again it would boring with zero plot development. It would be like ‘what was the point of season 2?’ Lol. I think season 3 will focus more on Paxton and Devi’s relationship strengthening (admitting they love each other), Paxton going to college, Devi finally settling down from her relationship chaos and moving on from Ben because of Paxton and her friend Aneesa. Season 3 will also probably be about Nalini disapproving of the Devi’s relationship with Paxton, Devi’s identity crisis and falling in love with her Indian culture (this lacked in season 2), and Kamala finally marring the teacher or Pushant.
@@olakrisma6859 You would have a point if the scene with Ben and mainly, the scene with Eleanor didn't happen. The point of this season ? Devi has grown more than last season. But there are a lot of Benvi Shipers and if you want the show to succeed, the writers has to keep everyone happy. The love triangle will continue for sure if a Season 3 is announced. And like i said, everything is in place for a Ben and Devi endgame. If you focus on the small pictures, il looks like your idea. And i think for a time, there will be Daxton and the development of their relationship but at the end, I think Devi will realise (Like Ben begins to realise at the Daisy trial ) she needs someone to make her grow up, to challenge her to be better. And sorry, but it was never Paxton, it has always been Ben and that's why I think the Big pictures is about them (And the fact that Devi heals and other stuff of course)
@@thomasm.6026 how has Ben helped her grow? There just both academically ambitious. Devi helped Paxton to grow, which is why she is a good girlfriend to him. Hopefully, in Season 3 will see Paxton being a great boyfriend and helping Devi fall in love with her Indian culture, like he admires his Japanese culture. The writers can’t keep everyone happy, that’s impossible. The only way Devi and Paxton relationship would fail if Paxton did something really bad, I really don’t see that happening. I think Season 3 will be about Devi becoming a good girlfriend, settling down, learning about her culture and healing (like you said).
@@olakrisma6859 Please, in season 1, he was the one who push her to go at the beach to be with her mom to spread her dad's ashes. He helped her reunite with her friends. In season 2, he helped her realizing she wasn't doing the right thing to get Aneesa forgiveness. He helped her realized that she shouldn't let Paxton get her and decided how their relationship will work(And her father in her dreams too). You can ship Daxton, but you obviously do not see the big picture. And You have the right to think and hope it would happen like you wish (It might happen, we never know)
But, more importantly, the show needs Benvi. They would loose a lot of viewers if they decided to focus on Daxton only (And the other way around is true). That's why the door is big open for Ben and Devi, like it was for Daxton at the end of season one. it's marketing. They will go on with this strategy until the end of the series. But i bet it would be Ben and Devi at the end. (And the fact that Ben wasn't suppose to be a love interest is a plus. The chemistry between Jaren and Maitreyi is on fire, even with the little content we've had)

He was the one asking her friend out so why should she think he still cares about her? She is allowed to be happy too, and him being with Aneesa didn’t help so of course she turned to Paxton. But I guess that means jealousy on Ben’s side for S3 and probably Bevi endgame, yay, which I’m looking forward to but I just hope that no one get’s hurt anymore like in S2.

To be honest I think Ben needs to work on himself as well, but he can't control his feelings for Devi. I think he may have dated Aneesa because she in some ways reminded him of Devi which is the wrong reason to date someone but he was also very hurt by what Devi did and that caused him to make questionable decisions (kinda like how Devi has been acting out after her dad's death which of course is a bigger thing and may be why she's been acting out more)

Besides there’s also an undeniable chemistry between Devi and Ben as well. But I like both Paxton and Ben. Maybe next season we’ll know for sure who Devi’s endgame is cause season 2 ended with Ben still having strong feelings for Devi. So there’s still hope for Ben and Devi to get back together.

I am Team Ben but I did try not to be biased watching season 2. I like paxon as a character but when it comes to him and Davi there was so many red flags. She felt bad at what she did to both of them but even she said how she wanted to have another chance with Ben and should of picked Ben from the beginning. She’s with paxon now but I think she still has feeling for Ben and if she found out that Ben and anessa broke up then she would want to be with him and I think she was going to ask him for another chance before she found out about them so I think Ben and Davi are endgame.

Paxton still wanted to be with Devi (private / public) even when he's been hurt by her all along. She used him to elevate her social status and spread rumours about them hooking up, which was absolutely wrong (irrespective of gender) and he never even exposed Devi for those rumours?. Nalini yelling and Paxton and insulting him so much (that scene was just painful please) Getting cheated on (one of the biggest ways to break someone's trust), and knowing he got cheated on in the most embarrassing way and getting run over by a car and loosing his scholarship (Devi even admitted to it “I almost killed the captain of the swim team”). If people could actually spend five minutes thinking about his feelings and his point of view in the relationship. Devi broke his trust multiple times and it came to light in the worst way possible, it wasn't a private thing between them.. it happened publicly. It makes sense why he didn't want to go public with her in the last episode but in the end he realized she was worth it and he went for her.

team daxton all the way they are boyfriend and girl friend now we really won team paxton ! i honestly think in season 3 daxton is endgame ! they benefit each other so much and when people aren't there for Devi paxton is the only one who is and also paxton still loved her with all of her flaws and what she did to him . so i would like to see how their relationship would be like i think he would treat her good . also at the end i was so thrilled about paxton and devi and i think ben should get over it because he has a girlfriend anessa . i feel like ben will just be jealous for season 3 he wouldn't actually try something .

Paxton didn’t know Devi before she asked to have sex with her. When he found out that she doesn’t look down on his sister, then he decided to be a friend! At the parties, when Devi got hurt, he always rescued her! Ben did nothing !
Season 2 episode 8, he saw her crying, even he was still mad with her, he still be nice to her! At the end of season 2, he still went to the dance for her!
What did Ben do, after he found out she’s cheating?

Plus Devi only started to realize she wanted to be with Ben, only when she saw that he was talking to other girl 🤷 all she did was interfere between them. She wasn’t trying to get with Ben
