They are fascinating, I think. I've just come back from flying the Illusion delta, for about two minutes as the breeze died completely. That's the problem here at this time of year - no wind.
A new road down to the beach... Hmmm, if the weather is bad ( freezing cold, a bit of drizzle etc ) you could sneak down it and fly from your car, or use the car to anchor your mega fish. Those illusion kite are very good at fooling your eyes, the Ralf Maserski one is probably the most convincing with it's fake frames holding the boxes open. I've always fancied a hexagon so this one could be on my shopping list at that price.
Summer? No chance, Graham. There are still at least three bad days for every good one. I think this has been the worst so-called summer since I came here over half a lifetime ago. Let's hope that autumn will be better. And it's almost here! The days are getting very noticeably shorter, so your spring must be coming soon. I hope you get some great flying weather this year.
Yes, it's a bit tatty when you look at it close up, but it works well and looks good in action. And as it was included in the $12 price tag, it was a real bargain.
Jim, I want to order one of the flat 12 buck kites, but I can't make up my mind to buy the red and black version or the red and green one. The spinners are a bit different as well and the one you have sure turns well.
You can find the hexagonal one here: tinyurl.com/yc3w8kk4 . The delta came from the City of Smiling Angels store (not a very reliable source) on AliExpress, and was sold as the "Step by Step" delta. It doesn't seem to be available any more, unfortunately. I agree about the illusion kites - they make a great display.
Try www.kiteplans.org/ and www.kitebuilder.com/wiki/pmwiki.php/KitePlans/KitePlans . They have many, many plans for making different types of kite. If there is not one with an "illusion" design, then you can easily adapt one for yourself. The important thing is to make the "cube" with different shades of color to give the 3D effect. Perhaps the easiest kite to make would be a delta.
Is this video real or just an illusion? A $12 kite out flies all comers. You have proved again you don't need to spend much to have a great little kite. I wonder what the beach is going to look like once the big machinery gets to work . Maybe they could put in some anchor posts for you.
I realised afterwards that I have at least one more illusion kite that I should have flown. It's hard to remember what kites you have when there are so many of them!
The illusion is very convincing in all of them. 🙂
Nice music Jim! 🥁🎶🎧🎺🎹

Outstanding value for a nice kite! Video is well done....as always.
Thanks, Hal. Yes, it was certainly a good buy.
...another great video, from: Jim In The Wind, very nice display as always~
Thanks, Mark. We haven't had many good flying days recently, but I'm trying to do as much as possible.
These illusion Kites are always eyecatching, I would like to have a go at making one sometime. Looks like your summer is arriving.

that spinning tail sure catches the eye..!

I'm a bit like that if I'm buying ice cream, Derrick - this one, or that one...or maybe the other one looks best!
fascinante esas cometas a cuadros, se ven chidos en el aire
Seems like there's a lot of construction happening on the beach. Hopefully it won't affect kite flying too much.
It will be ongoing for about 18 months, unfortunately. Everything's always slow around here.
Where did the first two come from please Jim? Illusion kites can be real eye benders.

Great videos, always love your flying. Also your choice of music is really refreshing. Is there a link to the cheap illusion so I can buy one.
Thank you. www.aliexpress.com/item/44-inch-Plane-kite-single-line-outdoor-sports-for-kids-Toys-novel-with-spiral-tail-with/32789813214.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.4JOLxj
Your a champion thankyou!!!!
Thanks Jim I have a red and also a green on their way to me now. Cheers for your time.
I hope you have a lot of fun with them. Naturally they're not the best-made kites you can buy, but for the money I was well pleased.
Is there any one who can tell me how to make illusion kite.. I m having kite making at my college.. Plz help..

None of it is real, Carl. Neither is RUclips - you just imagined that it exists and that you watched a video on it. Maybe you're not real, either!
"Illusion Delta"? I thought that was a Russian fighter jet...《GRIN》
Very very nice kites ...... (。◕‿◕。)
I realised afterwards that I have at least one more illusion kite that I should have flown. It's hard to remember what kites you have when there are so many of them!
I thought it was a bunch of box kites until I saw it was flat.
Hence the title of the video. Some illusions can seem very, very convincing.
