Had my family health nurse practitioner interview a couple of weeks ago, already got my acceptance letter. This video was very helpful.
Fast forward 3 years, I just started semester 2 out 3 of my DNP Project. Hope to finish by the end off July of this year.

Idk why but i cried in the beginning when u said its scary because you really want this. I guess it’s because you were 100% correct. My interview is in 2 weeks and this will change my life if i get in.

I watched this video before I underwent my NP program interview in the fall of 2018. I was just telling my wife that this video was the only video I could that that addressed the interview process. Fast forward 3+ years, I'm a board certified family nurse practitioner and current DNP candidate. I'm in semester 2 out of 3 for my DNP project. Getting ready for IRB process. Do you have any wisdom you can share regarding the IRB process? It seems such a huddle right now.

Omg Jesus is good ...my interview is on Monday and I’m so glad I came across your video... hoping you went into detail about attire...since your video is a little older and this is Coronavirus time ..I’ll be doing a virtual video in a suit with makeup 😉😉
Congrats on your interview! Although this is one of my older videos, the advice is still relevant today. A suit with make-up is perfect. Be yourself. Have an idea of how you will respond to questions such as “why do you want to be in this program?” “What are your future plans?” “Are you able to dedicate enough time to study?”
They may also want to discuss your grades from previous programs.

I see my self as a nurse practitioner as a natural progression in advancing my nursing career but specifically with this pandemic it has elevated the need for providers. This program allows me to be flexible. I am able to curtail my school responsibilities around my work schedule. Working during the pandemic has taught me that more nurse practitioners are needed to help fill the health disparity gaps that were so evident in AA and Hispanic communities. I intend in the future to work independently in a practice to help undeserved communities.

I found your video, what would be your advice on pre recorded interview. I'm preparing for a pre recorded interview. My guess is because of covid, it's not a traditional interview. So your information was great because the interview questions may be similar. I was informed during the practice session online it would take about 20 minutes.

So my question is, do you like your patients to call you Nurse Lada or Lada, Dr. Lada (not sure if you have your DNP though)? and why? I plan on entering the DNP program in May and i feel that we've earned the "Dr." part after graduation. BUT it may be false advertisement/misleading, you know?

Do you have to be a RN first, then become a NP? Or can you just go straight through college & get your NP license?

Emily Polanco I'm not sure. My guess is because all RNs are required to have Bachelors starting 2020 so they're moving everything else up a degree. I'm in my prenursing courses right now and I start my ASN in the spring. I was researching a lot on the N.P. license and someone said that it's going to require a PhD
Hi. I recently graduated from Virginia college for associate in Pharmacy. I don't know if I should go back to school and go further or change course. I already have my med tech license, EKG tech, and now my pharmacy tech. Should I move further in Pharmacy or go to medical sonography. ( even though u can't climb up the ladder in this field). Please respond.
Angie Ruffin How do u like pharmacy tech? I think moving forward to be a PharmD is a great idea! I recently graduated from NP school. I think it's better to do something that you see future progress (promotion/raises) in.
