- Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has described Michael Jackson's death as a loss of 'a great friend and wonderful, sensitive human being'. Sky's Adam Boulton talks to the star about his memories of the King of Pop.

So refreshing to hear Robin supporting Michael. Michael Jackson and all 4 of the Gibb brothers were friends. Michael did have a very vulnerable and fragile side and definitely didn't deserve the media intentionally assassinating his character on a daily basis. Michael and the Gibbs maintained a close relationship. Michael's kids had sleep overs with Barry's kids. It was also very touching that Barry did attend the funeral. Love all the BeeGees and MJ. Sadly, Barry Gibb is the only one left with us now. Who would have thought the oldest would be here much longer! Rest in peace Maurice, Robin, Andy and MJ. Gone but Never Forgotten!

Barry's kids were born in the 70s and 80s, Michael's kids were born in the late 90s and early 00's. I don't think they were having sleepovers together. Barry was 12 years older than Michael.

Why is it so hard for Media to accept that Michael was just a normal guy. It was his situation that was abnormal not him. He was still a thinking, feeling, caring human being who just happened by a chance of fate to be blessed by extraordinary genius. He fell in love, broke his heart, had dreams, achieved some, didn't achieve some, married, raised kids like any other guy. Is he any less of a human being or deserves less consideration as one because he was great at what he did or because he had vitiligo?

Why does every interviewer ask if Michael was "normal"? I am sure that with his family and close friends, he was as normal as anybody was. He's right, the American media was HORRIBLE to Michael. No wonder he went off to Bahrain after the trial. If I were him, I would have stayed there. American did not deserve Michael Jackson.
Michael had said once in an interview (forget which one now) that he loved the Bee Gee's music and they loved his. Very sweet things Robin had to say about our King Of Pop and his friend!! You can really tell who his closest friends were and are because they valued michaels friendship so much that in interviews they always share so little because even in the wake of his death they dont want to betray his trust. So many people are willing to sell their stories of michael whether in articles or books and its hard to know whats true and whats false (usually false or exaggerated). It's nice to see people like Robin keep their friendship private.
@ Hugh Egg Would have expected no less from Robin..Never would he have betrayed trust and friendship! ..and while Michael was alive all 3 brothers showed him friendship and loyalty..if for instance, some interviewer would jokingly refer to MJ as "wacko-jacko" or whatever, they were quick to interject with "You're talking about a very dear friend of ours!" So glad Michael had these wonderful brothers as his true friends!

@@jordanharkins97 Never said Robin was a *saint". But he seemed a very loyal friend. Robin and his second wife Dwina had an open marriage, thus was his last daughter, Snow, born. It's common knowledge and Robin has never denied his child.

I really admire Robin and the Beegees. Watched their documentary and I am still laughing at Robin when he was young; he was very comedic and a very naughty boy. He and MJ were both child stars. Robin must have been very nice because MJ was very shy and picky about his friends. They both had great lives...

Robin a gentleman. Standing behind his friend and colleague. The difference between the Jacksons and the Gibbs was mainly that the Gibbs were deeply loved by parents who never denied their working class background. The young Bee Gees grew up on the street and never lost their roots. The only exception was Andy, as he grew up already being a part of a wealthy family and maybe that is why he couldnt find a center in his life they way his brothers could.

Saturday Night Fever became the biggest-selling soundtrack album of all time. He's not saying who's better or greater so don't be defensive. He didn't want to say great things about Michael's music like how it out eats everyone's. he keeps saying that they have the biggest selling albums of all time, he probably has an album that sold well but MJ has the biggest selling album of all time.
Of course Thriller is the biggest selling album and SNF is still one of the highest selling soundtracks and was the highest selling album until Thriller came out. He wasn't disrespecting Michael, the Bee Gees were great friends of his. And he only mentioned the album twice, he was only answering what he was asked.
