Thanks, this is perfect. Bathroom skylight is leaking, the cheap acrylic bubbles. The wife hates the skylight anyway, so this will work great. An easy DIY for me.
The hotter it is outside the easier it will be to separate the shingles. Heat melts the glue underneath shingles. If it is cold out it will be harder for you to do this.
@@RAMBLE_ON yep, should have done this months ago but I was trying lazy attempts to patch it over. Then the rain stopped. Fell into de Nile. 😑. Warm spell coming. Finishing out the inside will be the challenge. Thanks for the response..(6 years later)
the bottom of these 2x4's visible from your inside floor looking up is where you will screw down your sheetrock. It will all line up flat to your room ceiling and no sign of sky light.
Excellent video very helpful!
Thank you for making this video
Nice video. All skylight leak….eventually…I hate them.

Does it cost less in materials and labour than paying for a new skylight and labour?
Material cost not more than $100. Labor is very simple to do it yourself. The best thing is you dont have to deal with sky lights anymore.
Good video but this wasn’t the one I was trying to see 😂
thx
That roof is junk
Yes. A year later we did the entire roof for the customer.
