PARQUE MIRADOR INDEPENDENCIA EN LA BARRANCA DE HUENTITÁN
Este parque cuenta con áreas verdes, áreas de juegos infantiles, facilidades para días de campo, canchas de fútbol, básquetbol, frontón y tenis, así como áreas de restaurantes con mirador, estacionamineto y un teatro al aire libre, el parque tiene una superficie de más de siete hectáreas. Es un sitio frecuentado por gran cantidad de deportistas aficionados a la caminata de montaña, donde se observa el cauce del Río Santiago y su afluente el río Verde. Cuenta con una serie de miradores desde los que es posible admirar la Barranca de Huentitán el Bajo.
Alrededor de este parque fueron construidos varios recintos que le ayudaron a activar en mayor número el interés turístico y local, entre estos destacan el Zoológico Guadalajara, el parque recreativo Selva Mágica y el Centro Universitario de Arte Arquitectura y diseño de la Universidad de Guadalajara, en años próximos como parte de la estrategia Guadalajara 2020 de renovación y megadesarrollo urbano el parque modificará su estructura para albergar el futuro Museo Guggenheim Guadalajara y no lejos del área el megaproyecto de inversión extranjera Puerta Guadalajara.

INDEPENDENCE VIEWPOINT PARK IN THE HUENTITÁN CANYON
This park features green areas, children's playgrounds, facilities for picnics, soccer fields, basketball courts, fronton and tennis courts, as well as restaurant areas with viewpoints, parking, and an outdoor theater. The park covers an area of more than seven hectares. It is a popular spot for many sports enthusiasts who enjoy mountain hiking, where one can see the course of the Santiago River and its tributary, the Verde River. It has a series of viewpoints from which it is possible to admire the Huentitán el Bajo Canyon.
Several venues have been built around this park that have helped to significantly boost local and tourist interest, including the Guadalajara Zoo, the Selva Mágica recreational park, and the University Center for Art, Architecture, and Design of the University of Guadalajara. In the coming years, as part of the Guadalajara 2020 strategy for urban renewal and mega-development, the park will undergo structural modifications to house the future Guggenheim Museum Guadalajara. Not far from this area, there is the foreign investment megaproject, Puerta Guadalajara.
