- Each year, towards the end of January, troops of the The Black Watch (R.H.R) of Canada are mustered on the parade square for its yearly celebration. This year, on Friday January 31st, the Regiment celebrated its 163rd anniversary, marking its founding day, important to all members of theregiment, past and present. As such, a parade was held on Tuesday January 28th to commemorate the occasion.
It is customary for the 'Drum Head' ceremony to occur during this birthday gathering, in which drummers of the Pipes & Drums gather in a circle and deposit their drums before the Colours are laid on them. The chaplain of the regiment will then give its blessing to the Colours, ensuring its safety, and recite a prayer for the wellness of the troops and of the Regiment.
This parade's honoured guest was the Regiment's Honorary Colonel, Colonel Bruce D. Bolton, MMM, CD.
This video features highlights of the entire parade (whether videos or snippet photos), as it could not be filmed in its entirety. Numerous recipients of the King Charles III Coronation medal and other awards are unfortunately not shown.

Congrats on maintaining traditions. However, I was sort of surprised by the shortage of kilts, even amongst some NCOs...
Trust the colour party to be out of step.
