What about road conditions,is it suitable for low ground clearance hatchback or sedan. When sudden Speed breaker most of the time touches our cars lower body part and makes a sound.
I love sedans but unfortunately with in city, we get blinded by high beams by scooters, autos, taxis, small cars. csuv cars will save us from this and gives upright confident seating position. Ofcourse no car save from high beams 100% though. csuv cars handles potholes, so finally i booked ecosport and waiting for it. Your observation is really valid. But I would like to debate on few observations. I have seen a honda cities bottom is hitting just passing through a hump in the road in Bangalore city. I feel that hitting bottom can expect quite often in a sedan due to little low ground clearances and wheel base length due to unscientifically build roads in India. In foreign countries you won't face this issue. I have Nexon which hit the ground only once due to my over confidence when park my vehicle to a ground surface which is almost one feet lower than the road. Second thing, sitting position - honda city and Nexon might have 1 inch deferrence in ground clearance. But park them side by side and you will find Nexon's seat positioned almost a feet higher than city's. It give good confidence for driver to plan overtake, better visibility on road, and for rear passengers, more unboring experience in long drives. Sedans has better aero dynamics and better handling than SUVs on high speeds for sure, but our bad roads opened market for fuel sucking suvs and XUV 300 and Nexon are few compact suvs which gave spacious and wider interior for someone under 5'10".
Ok but the SUV’s you mentioned are not Compact they are Sub 4 meter SUVs then comes Compact SUV (Seltos, Creta etc) having same engine, suspension, Front wheel drive just like Verna but SUV lookalike, then comes real SUVs ….

Scratching speed breakers are the biggest worry for many.. but even GC 190 or 210 can scratch because of approach angles. I recently bought a city and am not facing any problems with GC. It's a wheel that touches the ground and not the bottom surface on the road. In every car we need to cross carefully on a speed breaker.
To be precise, on indian broken & uneven roads even that 25 mm = 1 inch ground clearance over the sedan matters a lot. Usually in all hatchback & Sedans, the front bumpers tend to scratch the uneven speed breakers... Things become worse when 5 people are seated or/and loaded with luggage.. under belly gets scratched. But i think people like SUVs more is also due to the commanding driving position you get in these car against road clinging feeling you get from Sedans.
Owner of city recently took a test drive of hyundai venue. My goodness the stiffness is very prominent . Never gonna compromise ride for looks + hefty price🙏🏻
Very happy with honda jazz zx cvt bs6…..this after trying sonet...ecosport....I almost booked skoda rapid ambition automatic.......skoda build and acceleration was good....but my wife needed a comfortable spacious ride for home to office and home ride.....jazz is perfect and she likes it a lot....jazz cvt zx❤️❤️
I too enjoy my Honda Brio MT and Jazz VX CVT
My one has a sunroof....and my kid doesn't want to ride my polo gt......he is 4 yrs old.....says papa your car is stuffy..... :)...bends towards jazz....
Thats totally correct, instead to going for the popular trend one should look for their own requirements
Correct sir. It has been made a market strategy. I take my Figo with 174 mm and it takes on every kind of roads very easily and gives me very good ride and fun
Understood that Ciaz is good considering good mileage and service. But is it as good with safety and hardware quality?
I have my 14 years old SX4, thinking to sell it off and buy a new CSUV. After taking a couple of test drives, sadly realized that none of the so called CSUVs are as comfort as my Sx4. and build quality was also far better that time compared to current gen cars. Not sure what's wrong only with Indian auto industry, quality is getting worst year by year.
brother even I own SX4 2007 ZXI !!!!!!!!... Exactly, no one can match this car
Buy Scross it feels same.
SX4 and build quality? Kaisa mazak kar rahe ho lol.
Good insights..you talk sensible. You are just not like other Automobile vloggers who talk about "Yahan chrome element aatein hai".
