    NZ should reinvigorate ANZUS and send a battalion plus a ship over to Aus for regular training and vice verca. It would be great for our defence forces to be fully integrated.

    The Australian also are using the ef88 i dont think they are jealous. They have one of the best home made assault rifes in the world now.

      @rocket870 24 дня назад +2

      Yeah, I am pretty sure we use the EF88 and the MARS-L but the MARS-L is much more modernised I think to my best of knowledge. The Australian Army use a vast variety of weapons but the ef88 is just one of them that the forces can use

    Great to see that our reserves are able to partake in such welcoming and awesome events despite them being mothers, fathers, and work seperate jobs. Big respect to them putting in the work on the civilian side and also the combat side of things!
    One thing I cannot help but notice is that the NZ Reserve team are using the MARS-L and also the EF88 by the looks of it, are we going to receive any bigger caliber firearms for our combat units maybe something new for our NZSAS?
    Standard issued MARS-L is good don't get me wrong but what are the future plans for firearms?

    Even the NZ reserves are using the MARS-L I wonder if the Australians are jealous? Great video by the way and the Reservists rock.

      I think the Australians would prefer their superior pay and conditions, housing that is from at least this century. A department of veteran affairs - which although not perfect, is far far far better funded and staffed to look after vets. On top of all of this, greater access to better training resources and more frequent live firing activities.
      The Kiwis can keep their rifle.......which they'll probably still be using long after the ADF replaces the current version of the Styer - which is in the pipeline.
      I talk from experience of serving in both armies. I know first hand which is better militarily.

      @@damolux3388 Things are more lucrative in Australia in so many ways I agree. But if you had the choice of weapon would you take the Styer or the LMT MARS-L

    • @rocket870
      @rocket870 24 дня назад +1

      Yeah, the NZDF has EOD and Chemical Hazards units that station in Airforce bases and Army bases across New Zealand. New Zealand's EOD team is a unit I have not have heard of in a while though, I know that we had some in Afghanistan I think but I am not sure

    • @rocket870
      @rocket870 24 дня назад +1

      @Spud500 Yeah, if you have a look on NZDF Careers and go into Army and go find the EOD unit, I think it would tell you what unit they're connected to. The NZSAS has 5 standing units out of 10 I think that are still in service, one of which atleast has to be something around explosives and explosive technicians

    • @rocket870
      @rocket870 24 дня назад +2

      @Spud500 oh? The EOD is a NZDF Unit branched to Airforce, Navy and Army trained to deal with Explosives, Chemical hazards, and radioactive weapons, so the answer is yes..
      The NZDF has a big EOD unit spread out

      Considering any military will *ensure* you are vaccinated for a bunch of things, being anti-vax means you’ll be disqualified from applying.

      Few years back possibly mid Covid pandemic? If that is the case then yeah, back in when New Zealand was in lock down you would have needed to be vaxed. But now in 2024 or when the next intake happens I do not think you would need to be vaxed
