Thanks so much Phantos for the comment! I glad you like it! One of them is for a full hopper. That's got various beeps to it varying on how close you are to going over side for full hopper. Then one them is for when the head is plugged or when you running the head opposite way to unplug it... This particular field the down corn is from recent to it being harvested wind blowing it down and believe it or not the down corn actually yielded about 20 bushel higher which I suppose it's heavier. haha
Thanks gracie1001000! I really appreciate your words! That's my idea behind these farm videos is to help show people and give feel for what operating this equipment and other stuff is like. I try to make them as real as I can. Like this one this is what my dad the operator sees. Other than riding in the combine this is as close as you can get to seeing what that's like.
Unplugging the header with the flip of a switch, sure beats the days of crawling out, shutting down production, crawling up and clearing the one or two rows by hand (and often times hay hook)! Can't wait to get back to farming!
For the most part the 9770 has been pretty good for us. It has not been perfect in it's had some problems occur. It's been better than the 9760 we had previously. It eats a lot of corn and beans and wheat for sure.
Great video, it really gives people the feel of operating a large combine. Nice equipment and great job on the video. Dealing with that flat corn is misserable!
Thanks rsvsnot! I am so glad you like this video so much and think that highly of it! I try really hard to make unique videos with angles that help show unique perspectives.
This movie contains everything I love about farm work. First person perspective camera is excellent idea. I can almost smell dust and sweat on my face:) That reminds me good times when I used to do harvesting on my parents farm. Sorry for my simple english, its not my native language:) Greetings
Thanks Toohhai kkk for saying this first person perspective was an excellent idea on my part. I thought it would be a cool video of something a lot of people want to see in watching a combine operating. Also cool that it made you feel almost as if you were there. Your english seems as good as mine. lol Cool that you got to do harvesting work on your parents farm in the past.
Thanks jilliemac72, glad you like the video!... I must have made video in a way it appears it's always out. It's actually not. He just puts the auger out to let me know when to come aside of him. Then we done unloading he puts the auger back. So we actually don't keep the auger out. I made the video was showing the highlights which kind of mainly unloading on the go and so it looks that way. Good question.
Glad you like it!! I certainly notice people like this in cab view of the combine because it's all likes and no dislikes! haha Our corn is not great. It sure looks better than 2 or 3 weeks ago. We got some much needed rain. It was still later than needed to get a good crop but should help us at least get a crop. We figure maybe 100 to 130 bushel average corn we will get. Last year we were like 185 bushel average so this year is not going to be anything like that. How about where you're at?
We're farmers. My dad running the combine in this video is owner of the combine, most the land and operation. My brother is owner of some the land and equipment too. So we're a family operation. I'm a worker for my dad and brother.
Sounds like we're in about the same boat as you, lotta tough lookin stuff out there, definitely a good year to have insurance. I think we'll have one pretty good field, it seemed to get the most rain, maybe it'll average 150-160. I'm ready for next year! haha
The main reason likely would be is pretty much no dealers for Lexion in Wisconsin. Too we've long been running John Deere combines. In some ways it's just kind of happened and we have to run something. haha Also Lexion I think are even more expensive. Too another big thing is John Deere currently has the biggest unload auger and best unloading speed which we find important because we don't want the grain cart along side combine any longer than we have to.Everyone else augers are a bit a smaller
This is a great video and satisfies my curiosity about what it would be like to run a combine. We don't get to use such equipment in the small hill farms where I am from. It looks like things gum up a bit when you get to crop that's been layed over by the weather or other cause. I wonder if you could mention what the various beeping alerts I hear in the video mean? They seem to have different patterns and must mean different things.
Yeah it has RTK GPS system. That's how he is getting lined up. He gets it perfect with the section he wants to take off. He splits it so he gets the amount of passes he wants out of one grain cart path that I use. Then when he splits a new section I make another path. So besides when I'm aside of him I use the same path that's in the middle. I guess that part kind of self explanatory.
Hey Joel, great video man,i loved it. We're farmers here in Brazil, too. Just a question : At 3:46 i see you shut off the unloading tube, and carried on harvesting. I was told that we cannot drive with the tube full of grains, because it may damage the system and its parts. Isn't that bad for the machine? I was just wondering because most of the footages i've seen so far,is doing the exact same thing. Cheers
thanks for the information. i have a friend who works for the rdo and i dealt with a 9770 to import in italy but it's very difficult to transport of the registration and financing for italy . we are now outputs the new s but l do not like how the sts 70 series . thanks
tell me, how does the driver know where to open up the middle of the field like that? are you using a gps? we don't have one so i have to count rows to make sure i'm all even on the last pass
l'd like to have a farm in North dakota (l like the cold and snow ) and l really like the way you work . fields in my area more 'degrees have a maximun 10 hectares but mos are on average 1.2 hectares ... for harvesting and'a nightmare . how's 9770 sts ? thanks
Hi joel I am from México. Last year I bougth my first combine (9760sts) to harvest corn, barley and wheat. I have a problem Harvesting corn, my combine has a lot of grain losses. My fields production es 14-16 ton/ha and moisiture 14 percent when harvest. I have a 30 in 8 rows header. Muy combine configuration is this: 1.8 mph ground speed 30 concave Rotor 330 rpm Chaffer 22 Sieve 17 Cleaning fan 800 rpm Header speed 600 rpm Please help me and tell me what do do or fix in my combine configuration. Thanks for your time to read this
We run a 9770sts. cleaning fan 1100 Rotor 330. We harvest 3,200 bu/hr. before we start to get loss and running out of power. Ruben you are just doing 1000 bu/hr. If properly set you should go 4.5 mph with 8 row head. What did the JD dealer say?
You don't know what you're talking about. The only reason I'm driving around the field in the beginning is we are opening the field and my dad who is combining cannot possibly make it all the way around the field. So I have to follow him around the field when we are opening. Then once we have the field open and doing the main part I don't any more driving than I have to and have figured out of where he gets loaded and then unload on the go. So I am actually doing what you claiming I am not.

My favorite was dealing with the down corn.

Hows the corn looking up there?

Chain driven vs belt driven what do u like better
Yeah this video is 2011. Yeah was some down corn from wind in this video.
Are you a farmer bchs98 or work on a farm? Thanks for the comments on my videos!
Nice video! Will there be a video of this year's harvest?
Glad you like the video! I will probably make a few videos during the harvest this fall.
Are you just harvesting corn or Wheat or Soybeans too?

Rubén Martínez turn down the fan speed. That is why you are losing grain. Your rotor speed should be higher than your fan.

You listening to some 94.1?
