Custom Sea-Doo Jet Ski LinQ system fishing cooler using Ski-doo accessory

  • I took an off-the-shelf cooler and mounted $20 Ski-Doo linq locks to it, in order to attach the cooler to the Sea-Doo link system base that I put on my 2013 GTI SE 130. My complete project was about $165.00 total. I forgot to mention in the video you need to use a 7/32 drill bit and do not go farther than 9/16 into the deck because of your exhaust and the bolts will be attached with a T-30 star head driver.

    Only forgot one part...THE INSTALLATION!!!
    Just installed the exact same system on my older 2000's seadoo GTI with the identical cool. This is a pretty straight forward install however as some people have mentioned the screws that come with the base plates are not self tapping therefore require pilot holes which then get drilled out to the precise size of the coarse threaded bolts provided. You are screwing directly into the fibre glass deck through the top foam or in my case rubber mat. I also added extra foam under the rear of the bracket in order to better fit my older machine.
    In my case I also had to create small plastic spacers (1/4") where the LINQ latches mount to the cooler. I'm not sure if this was because of the angle of the back deck on my older seadoo but it was an extremely simple fix and everything mounts up tight and firm. As Greg mentions it beats all the straps etc you would have to use without these mounts and if you really want to use your Seadoo for fishing it's worth it for the clean and simple latch system.
    My cost in Canadian dollars: $193.99
    Ozark Cooler: $89
    LINQ Base Plates: $77
    LINQ Latches: $27

      Awesome glad you liked it. I used flat aluminum stock from Lowe's that fit perfectly into the rod holders side slots. The rod holders I have have slots where you could put a spike rod in it to put it down in sand. the aluminum fit in perfectly and I just bend it over and stuck it down in the slots on the cooler where to handle straps are located.

    Hi Greg good to k ow... I seen your rmcomment on amazon and looked you up on youtube, was hoping to see a detailed install on the cooler etc. Or even a bit more detail on the linq system install with that cooler. Did you use the template provided to drill the screw holes or did you have to custom measure so the cooler fit precisely.... if so can you share some of that info. Tks again glad to see how this isxpossible.

    • @gregparker7059
      @gregparker7059  Год назад

      I was not able to use the template provided. I had to make my own for that exact cooler size. Unfortunately I do not have the ski any longer and do not have the materials to replicate.

    • @chefgarrin
      @chefgarrin Год назад

      @Greg Parker ok tks no worries. I think what I may do is place the hardware connectors on the cooler and then temporarily place the linq bases on those and place all down on a piece of flexible material 1 inch thick and then trace the outline of them on said mayerial. Then remove the linq bases and screw in tight as per the outline and place cooler back on to see if all is nice and tight.... if so I would use the material as a guide to make pilot holes. My only concern is the curvature of the rear deck of my GTI 130 SE. I would have to ensure I can replicate that on the material being used.

    • @gregparker7059
      @gregparker7059  Год назад +1
