Glorious yarn haul. I love the idea of an 80s inspired blanket to honor your grandmother. Since I finished my patchwork squares and taking my time joining I needed another project using my variegated yumminesses. Working on a block stitch blanket. I just love using the variegated yarns now. Have a crochet filled weekend!
Huge haul girl. You scored like a bandit. That orange speckle yarn worked into a square looks like a slice of Colby Jack cheese! All the colors are loverly.
I had an old classmate call and she had been sorting out her grandmas’ stuff and she ran across yarn! It was vintage from about 20 years ago! Turning it into granny squares of course! Just what I wanted!

I get the guilt thing, but God delights in blessing his children. When my soul cranks on about guilt, I recall this verse. Hope it stills your mind. ”Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;“ 1 Timothy 6:17 KJV I know we aren’t rich like the world, but we are rich in the things God wants us to enjoy. It’s the second part that soothes my soul. Almost 3/4 of what I make I give away so it’s the materials I need to bless others.
You shouldn't feel guilty for the following reasons: 1. you are buying the yarn for a project or two; 2. variegated yarns don't stay around forever; 3. not all stores carry the same colors. So, rule of thumb, if you see the color you need buy it, especially if it's a deal, because there is no guarantee it will be there when you do need it. :-)
