Not gonna lie, I’m here for this. I got Kenny Loggins Danger Zone from it too. Thanks for the intro. I will be adding to the ‘focus’ playlist.
Happy to oblige!!! Not sure what sort of feast you’d come up with using this as your soundtrack!
Thank god they're getting rid of those muppets. I'm in Australia and can't find their cds anywhere. For a band that's exploded like these guys, we should be able to get a simple cd.
ABBA kept all the melody from Swedish music for themselves. ☕
Sorry WooBino, but that's not correct. Some of the most beautiful melodies you can find on several Opeth albums. If you don't know it yet, I recommend Damnation, an album full of beauty and not a single growl - I'm really interested in your opinion about it
@@rudolfbecker4313 I was being semi sarcastic to the growling, 😉 I'm sure there is a lot of great Swedish music.. ☕🗽🙂
This is like a large slice of coffee cake washed down with a double malt. Tasty and wrong at the same time but you know you don't need any more for a while.
great description Ken 👍 you have to be in a certain mood, if you want to listen to this again .... and when we talk about growling, nobody is better than the master of growling - Mr Mikael Akerfeldt 🤘
Well, I see Seek and Strike managed to cock it up even more than we thought. 🤣
Sorry for all the issues you've had with this, but I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!
oh yes, what a goddamn album. Hopefully you've got your ticket for their sell out headline UK tour
now, this I like! So far.... Going to give us a clip playing @ the wrong speed, Jim?? :)
No! (maybe on a blooper reel one day!)
@@JimNewstead This happened to me with the last Rammstein record, I couldn’t figure out why it sounded off and then I was like is it a 45 and sure enough it was. It was a heavy piece of wax, and that should have been my first clue. High quality record non the less so no complaints here, now if only others followed suit!
I'm one of the few, it appears, that lives this band. I'm in my early fifties and it took me a long time to realize I didn't hate growls. Now it might as well be clean singing. And this is one of the few bands that do it well. Don't get me started on Tatiana. Lol
Please do the second side. 🤘
All 4 sides are done! Check em out!
It's the same for me. When I'm looking for songs my wife will listen to I have to pay special attention to whether there are growls or not, because many songs the growls just become part of the texture to me. OC is definitely my favorite in the metal scene right now. Reminds me of where Lamb of God was headed with the first few albums.
My first thought was : "this is the music that my sons listens to and likes". So far the music is good for me ... I have to think about the vocals ... to be continued ...
It gets better with every listen. Really focus on the lyrics too it adds to the emotion behind the vocals.
Any thoughts on the mix, Jim? I love Orbit Culture but the production on this left me confused. Not to mention they have released an EP since this album and I think it's fair to argue that all 3 tracks on the EP are stronger than most of what can be found on the full album... Sounds better too!
Oh what a treat this is ! (Pardon the edits it’s 5:36 AM and I haven’t had my coffee yet 😂)
Just had my lunch here!
33 rpm or 45 rpm would it make a difference. I would play it on 78 rpm.
I'd love to see a full listen to their previous album Nija, as much as I loved Descent, Nija is truely one of the best metal albums I've heard
Nija is amazing. I tried to find a reasonable priced copy to send to Jim, but it's unobtanium.
@@MaraxisArcanist I had the same problem but managed to get a double CD with the Shaman EP with it from their Website. Not a clue how you'd get the Vinyl copy though
Loving the music Jim! But the growling is verging on too much for me. I will
Listen to part two for sure! Heavy indeed!
It is VERY heavy, but I really, really like it!
@@JimNewstead i like it too! Just vocals bit too much growling for my liking. Seems to be more growling than singing. Great reaction Jim!! I sent you an email this morning about advent Horizon vinyl! Take care Jim!!
Or rather a message in your buy me a coffee .
Try and focus on the lyrics, it will help ease you into the harsh vocals.
Good evening Jim,
Hearing the intro of your video, I’m sure I won’t like it.
I will listen until the first growl, scream or whatever.
So my comment will probably be very short 😬.
Wow, two minutes in and I’m still listening.
20 seconds later…well that’s it for now, I’m quitting.
Sorry Jim, I can’t listen to these noises.
Sorry jim not my cup of tea, can never understand this growling business, devin townsend is about my growling extreme.
