Today I brought Albin (abbelele) and Torpeden along for a Non-Euclidean build, and after about 30 minutes we had finished the Scare floor from one of my favorite childhood movies: Monsters Inc. What is "Non-Euclidean Minecraft"?
Well firstly, it isn't really non-euclidean. That is just a term that most youtubers use when describing the Immersive Portals mod since it kind of turns minecraft into a semi non-euclidean game. The immersive portals mod turns all minecraft portals into see-through seemless portals, that you can just walk through to reach the next dimension. The mod also adds special portal blocks that you can use to create seemless portals in one dimension, allowing for an extension of what normally is possible in vanilla minecraft.
What is Monsters inc?
Monsters, Inc. is a 2001 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Featuring the voices of John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, James Coburn, Mary Gibbs and Jennifer Tilly, the film was directed by Pete Docter in his directorial debut, and executive produced by John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton. The film centers on two monsters - James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and his one-eyed partner and best friend Mike Wazowski - employed at the titular energy-producing factory Monsters, Inc, which generates power by scaring human children. However, the monster world believes that the children are toxic, and when one sneaks into the factory, Sulley and Mike must return her home before it is too late.

I almost kind of want this to go on longer. Maybe finish the other end of the room? Or better yet, make more of the building!
PSA: Immersive portals interact normally and can be moved by stuff from the create mod, therefore, although it would take a lot of work, it is technically possible to make it so that the door portals can be transported around like in the movie.
Even if not for this exact use case, I bet you can probably make something really cool with being able to move around immersive portals.

What if you used the create mod to have the doors actually come down from the roofs? That would be epic!
Create uses Forge and Immersive Portals uses Fabric. There is an Immersive Portals port on Forge, but it isn't as stable as the Fabric version, and typically causes a fair amount of lag.

Build Your own version of the famous “Dimensional Doors” mod and make it way cooler and more cursed, using the non Euclidean portals mod of course....

Been binge watching all your Non-Euclidean videos on my PS4 and you're very quickly becoming my favourite RUclipsr if I'm being honest. The intros are quick and to the point. The editing is clean and minimalistic yet playful and fun. The humor and jokes always make me laugh and the overall concepts are so creative. Keep up the absolutely incredible work my guy, you've got yourself a new sub😁 (Oh and I also love how you do the RUclipsr "Like, comment and subscribe" bit. You know people who are on RUclips and watching this kind of content have probably heard it all before so you speed it up, very nice touch👌)
As a victim of Shalz's scare floor, I can confirm that seeing Shalz's face at the end of my bed at 3am is horrifying
it would be cool if there was a lever that could enable/disable the door, so if you pressed it, it would turn from a portal to a normal closet

Hiring the mobs instead of lighting the place up properly was pure genius.
What about making floor 1 from the backrooms? Maybe some zombie spawners and the occasional chest with resources. It would be like the IKEA build
Yeah, I did that a while ago... In 2014 I saw the Dimensional doors mod and was like "What if they showed the other side so you could make Monsters Inc or something?". Then Immersive portals came around, which is when I was thinking... _Perfect._

If you're struggling with lighting, using lanterns etc, use the command /give (your name) light_block 1 15
The 15 means light level 15 and the 1 is just the amount in your inventory but you're in creative so it doesn't matter. These block's are see through and walk through.

My first thought was brewing stans for the scream collectors, and the bottles could fill with speed pots that could be colledect in cauldrons
Fyi you can use the stack command instead of having to copy and paste over and over. Make a selection, face the direction you want to stack in, and //stack num

Edit: Use the create mod to move the doors around and use the small blocks mod(i don't know the name) to make the canisters, door frames with lights at the top, other small details etc....

To be more accurate with light, just spawn in a light block with commands :/ /give @p light

i dont know how i didn't think of lone doors with the portals
also missed opportunity to make one of the doors a one-way portal to a snow biome
