Incredible how a 12 minute video could've easily been under 1 minute.
You don't need multiple folders of OBS, all you need are separate shortcuts for the same one and just add --poratble to the target field in properties. That's literally it.

I want to run 2 instances, one for streaming with all of my overlays and one for recording so that my camera is separate from my gameplay, but I've run into an issue. perfect, thank you. OBS is the only program that gets good quality footage from my capture card, but i use obs to stream and don't want to use it's fullscreen projector do see that game on my priimary monitor, this fixed all, thanks. I only wish i could have the streamdeck open OBS 2 with a seperate function, ut it doesn't work. the Stream Deck recognizes them as the same program.source. which is odd because i have it pulling from a completely different folder.

you dont need this many obs you can use one for all lol . this is not how it works have you seen a video on how to set this up? you can set up everything in one obs ? obs has multi-streaming too i use a webcam and game play at the same time this will just waste space and resources bro. your putting heavy load on your cpu and GPU this is useless not necessary there tutorial on how too set up everything with one obs i seen multi stream setup for obs

Great tutorial, but my question is can you create separate OBS's with separate plugins i.e. an OBS that is stable and another one with software that is still being perfected. I was having some issues with a plugin that I was troubleshooting. I reinstalled OBS and it would say,"replace or keep both" so kept both thinking that they were different. The installer numbered them to differentiate between them, but I think they both ran on the same foundation, so without using the troubled software it would crash! I had a total of 7 OBS's doing this. Before I try this again what is your opinion? Do all copies have the same foundation or can you load plugins in one OBS and not the other? Thanks! By the way I am using a Mac.

idk if you're still looking for this, but for anyone else looking for this, make your OBS portable (look online how to do it), and the folder it's in includes all the scene collections, settings and plugins. just make another folder with a different portable version of obs in it and voila you have a "clean" and "dirty" obs!
