This is how you introduce protagonists in movies.
Craziest saloon ever. Livery stable, bath house and saloon all in one room.
They call it the WILD west for a reason 😉
I love the dialog right after this, where Harmonica grabs one of Cheyenne's men's coats, and says, "I saw three dusters like this earlier. Inside the dusters were three men. Inside the men were three bullets." Awesome.
Best.
Cool
That's the whole reason I watched this scene here, how could they not include it!?
That's a crazy story for 2 reasons Harmonica
1)Nobody round these parts got the guts to wear these dusters except Cheyenne's Men
2)Cheyenne's Men don't get killed
@@juliolopez6289 bravo, came to comment exactly this.
Probably thee best movie entrance of a character. Ever
This is the best western movie of them all, stylistically.
Not just stylistically, in everything.
Greatest Western ever made.
Imho, top 10 movies ever made.
A masterpiece.
@@stevem2323 but it has no ecstasy of gold
@@yourmum69_420 It had equally good stuff.
A masterpiece scene within a masterpiece movie
Bronson the only man cool enough to play his own theme music wherever he goes
kamera, schnitt, musik.....bester film ever
2:42 With the music and only one projector, the look of Charles Bronson and shadow!!! This is awesome!!!!
You know you're a badass when you play your own theme music🤣
Instead of talking he plays. And when he better plays he talks
I dig it. It's like no other sound. It was Harmonicas way of saying your quarrel is with me not them.
"You don't know how to play..."
Robards was a scene stealer in this. Classic cinema 🎥
What a classic cast: Jason, Henry, Charles, Woody and of most of all the lovely Claudia.
And Ernest Borgnine as the bartender, if I'm not mistaken. Funny to see him in such a minor role.
@@ChristopheStrobbe Ah Christopher in fact it was Lionel Stander who once played a part in Hart to Hart if I'm not mistaken.
Don’t forget Jack Elam
@@ChristopheStrobbe Almost. To be honest, at first I thought the same as well, but the actor's name is Lionel Stander.
Ahh yes, Claudia, my future wife.
Cinematic genious! The music, the dark lighting, the characters all combined to perfection.
Jason Robards has to be the most underrated actor of his generation
He won two Oscars. Hardly underrated.
@@noidea26 I did not know that.
Best Western of all time
The Searchers

Cowboys and Indians a typical Hollywood western movie, don’t think so.

The best movie scène all time!!!
I like it when Jill asks Harmonica if he will come back someday. My favorite.
Brilliant Entrance By Jason Robards As Cheyenne! The Music Perfect!🤠🔫🐴🐎🏜🪕🎼🎵🎶🇺🇲
Cheyenne rules! This movie is some awesome that even the great Claudia is a badass.
Nobody could have pulled this off better than Jason Robards.
Jason Robards is one of my favorite actors
Magnificent Film making the lighting on this scene is exquisite
Masterpiece in every sense of the word. A true achievement in filmmaking.
yes indeed but allow me to play devil's advocate for a minute- Once Upon A... is indeed a great film, Enrico's score was magnificent and Sergio was a truly gifted filmmaker which shows here in this film and all of the main cast put in great performances-Claudia, Henry, Jason, Chuck (am I missing someone?) but...well how can I put this respectfully, the film itself is a bit overstylised, focused on the effect instead of the affect and also a bit long-winded and thus a bit...well... boring.
Now don't get me wrong, at this point in time I wouldn't change a bit in this truly magnificent film because we all grew used to it and it is a testimony to all the great artists involved who (except Claudia) are all dead by now but I just wonder how the original audience felt when viewing this in '69-they obviously were impressed but I have a nagging feeling they were glad it was finally over and they could rise up from their tired bums.
Even so I agree with your opinion.
Lionel Stander played the bartender in this scene. The HUAC hearings and the Red Scare ruined his career till he moved to Europe and got roles in several films, like this one.
Best turn around ever
Legend scene!
Claudia Cardinale, the most desirable brown eyes ever.
Absolutely eternal, classic beauty.
My God ! This staging, these piercing gazes, this filthy atmosphere, these actors, THIS MUSIC, the camera movements, and the scene which fits perfectly with the music, the scene which gains in intensity when the music rises.
I don't have the words...
Classic scene!
I love how when he sees the bullet hole in his shirt then the pistol he smiles like okay i can run with this guy lol
Yeah Harmonica was starting with the only clue he hand. Cheyennes dusters.
The three who pretended to be Chyeannes crew members.
So he had to find a way to get in. By entertaining thenleader himself.
One of the Most Iconic scenes in Movie History.
This only move I can watch all the time ❤❤❤ I wish everyone have brother as harmonica ❤
I like scenes like these where they let the actions speak for themselves instead of too much talking
Ennio Morricone
Simplesmente FANTÁSTICO!!!
Cheyenne era el mejor.
3:36 what a beautiful piece of emotional attacking music.
I like how is just a test of trust and will. Cheyenne trusts the guy to handle his gun to break his chains.
Tekrar tekrar izliyorum tekrar bıkmadan usanmadan
That harmonica sounds so damn terrifying

1:48 what whisky is that? Old .....?
It's like Leone went into future and watched some anime, then made a movie.
This is the epic tradition of Italian westerns, it has nothing to do with stupid Japanese animations.
From 1:52 on. A main character reintroduction doesn't get any better.
캐간지 ~~~!!!!
Aqui ficaria bem melhor com uma legenda em português !!!

Only thing missing from this scene is a cigarette.
Can you only play or do you know how to shoot? Pick it up! 😂
I love this movie, yet there is so much about it I don’t fully understand. This scene is good example.
Why doesn’t Cheyenne just threaten Harmonica to shoot his chains?
Why does Harmonica just give Cheyenne his revolver?
Why doesn’t Cheyenne make the bar patron just use his own revolver?
Maybe I am overthinking it, or just plain dumb, but I believe the answers to my questions would make me love this film more than it is.
My interpretation was always that Cheyenne correctly assessed Harmonica as a hardcase like himself. Evidence would be his demeanor, as well as the fresh bullet wound that didn't seem to bother him one bit.
And I think Cheyenne instantly respected him enough to not try to fuck with him. Harmonica gave that respect back by handing him his gun for the task at hand, like saying "you can use it as thanks for not trying anything stupid, like trying to use me"
Both guys realised the other isn't their enemy, and that it was healthier for everyone involved if they kept it that way.
You are totally over thinking. When you watch a movie, you must always know the director and his style. In a Leone's movie (and the italian style of the 60s and 70s in general) you should not necessarily expect rational explenation to small details or questions like yours. Cinema is a visual art for Leone, so you must live it with your gut. Cheyenne looked at Harmonica and understood he was a tough guy like him, and as such he could trust him, and they teased each other in a clear showing of respect. Everything that happens or is said is out of Leone's typical coolness and badassery, no rational explenation needed. It's cool so it's great, simple as that.
Good bad and ugly better version
Totally agree.
GBU ran out of steam once they confused the main plot with the American Civil War.
Başyapıt
i guess that what you do after you made the best movie ever made.
You just flex your cinematic muscles for 2 hours 46 minutes to render every other movie director incompetent.
And that flex is One Upon a Time in the West
Like when Said been chased by pack of turds all night
SO glad I watched these meaningless RUclips outtakes. kept me from wasting any money or even the time it takes to watch it. they couldn't even give Jack Elam more than 3mins in it.
what a terrible excuse for a movie. Every corny line they could stuff into a pathetic script for the most stereotype cast actors they could find. Clint Eastwood refuse any part in it.
It is a very great film actualy
@@eleutheriosvenizelos2191 absolutely, I watched like 2 clips of it.. decided to watch the whole thing. Fell in love with it.
Harmonica is admirable dude, but my favourite is definitely Cheyenne.
@mm43501 damn
@mm4350 We cannot labels all criticism as "trolling", tbf, non of the movies had any realism, like for instance, do duels really occurred like how they portray ? Just a cursory check will invalidate such movies. :)
Yet it seems to be on every Top 10 best westerns list. The cinematography, the music and, yes,the dialog all top notch. The extended opening sequence is brilliant too.
