After Dana spent all that time going against Francis, calling the fight with Fury a gimmick, now he's trying to steal the idea for Jon. That's pathetic. Dana could be spending this time setting up a Francis vs Jon crossover fight instead.

Dana is a mixed bag. On the one hand he gives us a lot of the fights we want quickly, where boxing often struggles and fails, BUT Dana's ego has also ruined a lot of "could have been" situations in the history of MMA. Dana kept Fedor out of the UFC during his prime by being inflexible. He should have found a way to keep Francis. If you had to let him take breaks to box, whatever, do whatever it takes. I think Jones may fight Francis but it will be outside the UFC and it will be Dana's fault.

As much as I want this fight to happen, I'm also content with speculation rather than the actual outcome of this highly anticipated fight. I'm a JJ fan all the way and I'm fearful of his chances against Francis, who I also support profusely. After watching Frances literally maul Stipe, he just induced fear in me. Jon must never overlook the menace brought by Stipe, the guy is methodical and meticulous, I've witnessed him absolutely outthink and outmaneuver Francis in their first bout. Francis is a completely different animal, that's not to suggest that I'm downplaying the pedigree of JJ, but he is in a different division now and one can argue that he hasn't as yet asserted his dominance given that he's only endured one fight. I'm subconsciously hoping that this fight never actually materializes, I don't think I can digest JJ's lose and if there's one man on earth that has the capacity to bring about that eventuality it's Francis.

Which on its own isn't that bad with someone as skilled as Jon Jones, but the technique of Francis improved and it improved quickly. If you look at his last 3 fights with Jairzinho, Stipe, and Ciryl, he doesn't even look like the same fighter after each fight. He knows he's the GOAT but at the same time he's also disclosed his pre-fight partying ritual in the past. Who does that? Somebody with a neurotic personality.
Francis doesn't have any of those fears bc he's seen as the baddest man & has the intimidation factor that Jon lacks. Jon even tried to size up Ciryl so he wouldn't be as intimidated.
Either way, it's prob the coolest story for a fight I can think of.

Jon had multiple opportunities to fight Francis, including before he was even champ. I remember Francis accepting the fight and Jon asking for money McGregor can only dream of in the UFC. If Jon really wanted the fight he would have taken it when Francis was still in the UFC. Instead he waited for Francis to leave and how quick he came out of his sabbatical to take on Gane. Either way if Francis lands the way Gus or Reyes did, it's light out for the juice GOAT. You can see the size difference- Francis is a natural heavyweight Jones is a blown up light heavy.

Weighs in at 248 for Ciryl Gane, probably 260 on fight night. Anyone who's ever tried to get bigger in a gym knows it wouldn't take them 3 years to gain 15-20 lbs and on top of that show up on fight night pudgy. Which tells you a lot of that gain wasn't lean muscle mass. Tells me that the man was terrified of Francis and wanted any reason to not fight him but didn't want the public to know.

U all forget what Frances Ngannou said. Jones said he is the King, France replied in your division. Jones I had to take time off to get to heavyweight. Jones said u gonna wrestle, France , I have be waiting to three years meaning u think I can wrestle? Frances win the the conversation and he gave him a piece of advice "play the game don't let the game plays u" then he was more composed.

The only thing with Fury vs. Jones (or Francis for that matter) would be boxing with 4OZ MMA gloves. Take away the silly boxing guard while still giving Tyson a chance to survive
