Maybe most of the democrats realized they needed to jump on board the civil rights train in the 60s because they realized black people were going to vote against them if they didn’t, but republicans have always and still do support constitutional rights for all. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, among others, have publicly honored actual KKK members and characters in history like Margaret Sanger who have been responsible for black oppression and genocide.
