    Top job Luis, quick and dirty, revealing it's clapped out as buggers. It is actually shocking that this thing was offered for sale as a regular used car and not a donor (or at least that's what the potential buyer being that keen on having it suggests to me).

    My sisters mini was consuming oil in 240 miles it was going from max to min. in the end my last resort was to do an engine clean and use some stop smoke additive and to my amazement its not consuming oil anymore and its been over 2 weeks now with over 500 miles on the little thing. I'm not saying its fixed it for the long run but for the time being its running 10 times better than it ever was. I never in a million years would think an engine additive would help the car I thought it was all snake oil. only time will tell now, but that Vauxhall sounded rough when you first started sounded like knock, or it was drinking oil causing the engine to knock and ping and go ham in on the walls. that's nuts looks like someone put BB in the intake lol

      @@LMAutoRepairs Neither am I, I got a car from a Dealership years ago that had used Radweld to avoid £85 for a new radiator. The heater matrix blocked up and turned solid, so they ended up replacing that too!

    I've seen marks like that on cylinders when those awful aftermarket things incorrectly sold as an "air filter" have been fitted. The types with a tiny surface area that have mesh and oil soaked cotton material or the foam types with oil are completely useless. They are 12 times smaller in surface area compared to a correct paper type and do not stop dirt and dust getting inside the engine to damage it. You also end up with oil on the MAF sensor, no matter how people lie and say you don't.
    Something has been scoring the cylinders.
    I can actually believe someone will sell that with no faults, hopefully the MOT centre will not fake the result and fail it.

    mirror attachment on borescope might have picked up the cylinder head and valves area .as its alloy would have seen if marked badly as if its had maybe spark plug broken ceramics rolling around

    Those indentations are not , what you see are oil drops , and some vertical scratches , maybe at some time the engine was overheated , the piston skirt scratched the wall , the oil scraper is damaged or locked and there you have it ....

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Год назад

      Possibly...
      It definitely doesn't look like oil drops...
      Too consistent across all cylinders... and no reflection... which would do if was oil... ah, and no running oil down the walls...
      Not convinced they were oil drops... but who knows...

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  6 месяцев назад

      Probably... anything above 180psi and these engines run pretty smoothly...
      The 160 on this was however low regardless...

    • @corsik737
      @corsik737 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@LMAutoRepairs 180 psi is also low, the engine may run smoothly but the pistion rings are a bit worn in this case. 16 Bar or 230 psi in each cylinder is the value which these engines have just from the factory :) What about this engine? Did you rebuild it? Usually crankshaft bearings sound like on the video on these engines. Cylinder wall damage is terrible... Poor Corsa 😔

    I am not a mechanic, but I think the borescope images look like oil droplets on the cylinder walls. That engine is too rattly and needs a major attention! The guy selling the car must be Arthur Daley. Well this car is going to bite him, unless he got it very cheaply. At least you done your bit.

  • @Ronick-Q-46
    @Ronick-Q-46 Год назад +1

    That would be a scrapyard for me, maybe that's why there stopping putting dipsticks in engines because you have dipsticks driving them and not checking the oil.

  • @petar443
    @petar443 Год назад +1

    The mechanic doing the head gasket should have stopped the job when he saw such cylinder bores. The question is did he saw them. They did not diagnose the problem the first time. Burning Engine oil because of headgasket is very rare problem.

  • @HowToSaveMoneyOnCarRepairs
    @HowToSaveMoneyOnCarRepairs Год назад +1

    They initially took it to the wrong Mechanic, they did not know what they were doing...! Even in Africa, they could have made a better diagnosis and repair...! They should have checked For Sideways Movement on the Pistons when they had the Cylinder Head, Off..! This would have indicated to them, the piston rings were Worn (Lack Of compression)..! Replacing the Piston Rings, might solve the Problem or in extreme cases new cylinder liners/ cylinder Block might be needed...! It might just be best to change the Engine on this Car, for a Known /Tested Correctly working Engine...! 🤔🤔😇😇
